methadone to suboxone nightmare

I was wondering if there is a way  I can lower my methadone dose quickly over a week from 80 to 10-15. I have methadone at home... just went to the doc and got suboxone... but took it 55 hours later and went to the e.r. the withdrawals were sooo severe... like nothing I had ever had !!!!!!!! Want to be on sub. desperately.. .but not sure what to do .. e.r. gave me clonindin and vistiril(for sleep) and shot me up with Ativan at the hospital because I was soo frantic... also a shot of mg. morphine... nothing worked, oh, and ZOFRAN for nausea.... I slept like a baby... of course.. but I don't know what to do.... I want to detox slowly off the methadone... confused....

Thanks, that does seem the consensus from the research that I have been doing.. why would a doctor who prescribes this do this to people. I thought I knew what withdrawal was, but this took it to the next level and beyond. I am so mortified that I trusted that doctor after knowing in my heart, that I needed to taper.... thank you ... have an awesome night..

HI there is no magic bullet here for starters you need to taper down to 20mg and your plane will put you into sever withdrawals it is time to take your time going down weekly till you hit 20 mg trying to do it at 55 hours on such a high dose put you in parsipatated withdrawals and your right they are horable i know you really want to switch but the only way I know how is a slow taper good luck and God bless..........................................Gnarly.....................
