Music is such an integral part of my life and helps me through so many things.  As I was sitting here thinking of all the wonderful people I've met here, a song came to my mind that I haven't heard in a long time.  It's an Elton John song...one of his earlier songs.  I wanted to post the lyrics here (they are strange on their face, but very symbolic in their meaning) as a tribute and thank you to the beautiful people here struggling for a life of sobriety and recovery.

It's funny, I came back last night from a friend's Dad's wake...and it's a 1/2 hour ride and normally I listen to talk radio or sports...but I made a cd of music that I grew up with..... songs that speak about life and finding yourself, even love.  And I drove around the block a few times because I wanted to keep listening and not go home.  Music has so much helped me.  And all of your thoughts.  It's funny I almost don't want to let anyone down here after getting to my 4th day off of 10-15 10/325 for almost 10 years...I need to keep going, I WANT to keep going.

One more song, even tho' I live in bad New York City...it's by a group called JJ Grey and Mofro...called 'The Sun Is Shing Down'
