Can't sleep AGAIN!

It is day 11 now and I still can't sleep.  It's been 15 days since I've had more than 3-4 hrs of sleep and that's not even continuous.  I'm getting to the point where I want to take a Soma to knock me out but I'm afraid it will give me rls.  Any suggestions?  I'm a walking zombie!

You seriously need to find something to help you sleep.  Your body is already worn down from detoxing, and you're probably experiencing just a tad bit of energy, but you're too tired to do anything.

You're going to end up getting real sick w/this winter weather.

I'm going through that right now (day 22), and have been sick 5 days (feeling better) because of lack of sleep.  Had to get on major anitbiotics, cough syrup & mucinex.

If you can't get a script for anything to sleep, buy an expensive over counter pill.

Buy only the kind at GNC or you are wasting your money.  you want the 1mg  sub lingual kind because they work fast, and you can increase up to three pills because everyone is different.  I have to take 3mg and 1mg knocks my hubby out on his butt.  The kind at rite aid takes time to work.  You want something you can take before bed   __in bed so because it is key to be lying down in a dark or very dim lit room.

Hope you get some well deserving rest.

Nauty..................

You should try Melatonin, its a natural sleep aid which can be bought at GNC or Rite Aid or any supermarket....

I'm over all the RLS now ever since I got a massage at around day 7.  It helped big time.  Funny thing tho, after the massage my muscles seemed a whole lot better all over except for my butt cheeks.  Seems like all the toxins settled there.  Probably because the therapist didn't massage my butt, lol.  I've had a hard time sitting.  Anyone else had this?

I've tried Tylenol PM but it gave me bad RLS.  Other than that hot baths and herbal tea.

I had this problem as well.  I think sleeplessness is one of the longest lasting symptoms of WD.  Hang in there, it does get better!  I'm 5 weeks clean, and I'm sleeping more or less OK now.  I still have the occasional night where I have trouble drifting off, or wake up too early, but that too is lessening.

As Bart said, Clonidine really helps.  I used this med, along with generous doses of Phenegran.  This is an anti-histamine drug, that is commonly used to treat nausea/vomiting.  It's main side-effect is big-time sleepiness.  It really helped me get through those rough first weeks.  You will have to see a Dr though to get a script for both meds, but they are certainly worth the effort!  Keep us posted.

Hey I am having about the same, been 2 weeks + and I am up at 3-4 am. Hell take some imodium it can calm as it is a narcotic. Clonidine has worked for me for short period of time. Go with the flow as best you can.
