Quick question.

I'm on day 3. Still having tough times staying asleep. I can fall asleep but a few hrs. later around 1am I wake up with my arm aching. If I was to take half of a 5/500 vic how far is that going to set me back? Do you think I'll start the whole WD process over? During the day I'm ok with a few aches and pains here and there.

I really wouldn't suggest drink beer during withdrawals. When I drank on day 4 of withdrawals at the bar just to force myself to get out for an hour, I had a really, really bad anxiety & panic attack.

But Ibuprofin 800's do wonders for your aches. Also smoking marijuana keeps your mind at ease and calms you down and helps you sleep. That also works wonders. Don't underestimate that power of a hot shower/bath, it will make you feel a lot better.

Also I'd like to add that I tried xanax during my withdrawals and it made them worse for me actually.  But xanax has always had a different effect on me than other people.

This is an older post. So I will say this for the next person that comes along. Valerian root works pretty good for withdrawls...."Valuim" is actually derived from the plant itself. That having been said its nowhere
near as strong and if your at the pinnacle of your withdrawls it will make you wiped out and generally wont put you to bed. Also taking large quantities will make you feel really dry and dehydrated....I know this.....you can find Valierian root tea that usually also contains skullcap. chammomile and like black licorice root and such. If it says "for regular nights sleep steep two or one bags" make about 4 and after you have let it steep in boiling water (which you should cover while bags are in) squeeze out all the juice and you get alot more potency.

Ultram is a decent (short term) alternative. It supplies the warmth and sweatiness that dones.oxy.heroin all produced it kills the cravings some....but can be equally addictive....ive heard some scary stories about that stuff because you can buy it anywhere online without a prescription for CHEAP! So make sure you dont get carried away or have someone close to you that will keep you on the right path.

I find that a glass of beer. A bowl of medicinal marijuana. A hot shower/bath. Followed with some tea (as described above) will make them somewhat tolerable. The hardest part for me is the mood swings and the anger associated with the sickness. Believe it or not tylenol and ibprofen do help. They wont kill it all. But they to take away from some tension in the back and neck.

Valerian root will also help with the restless leg syndrome you will almost certainly have. Xanax or clonadine is great but super addictive. Ive heard that benzo and opiate withdrawls at the same time can actually kill you and its quite common. No need to mix addictions.

Making it through that first week. then two. then three.

its liberating.

just dont throw it away.

because you'll be in the same boat all over again.

And for someone that doesnt know....withdrawls are single handedly some of the worst feelings you could ever ever ever experience. I thought coffee and cigarettes were hard.

This makes your heart hurt. Gives you artifically high blood pressure. Neck pain back pain. Nausea and diarreaha (spelling is off).

Your body will be trashed and theres not enough pepto
or anything to slap a real smile on your face for awhile.

Getting high is fun!!!!.....but the price you pay for addiction and trying to quit is life altering.

Dont give in.

Get out.

Get better.

Get your life back.

xanax is like valium. its ok to take for a few days to get you thru this. But to be on the safe side, good you said no. Valerian root is at rite aid for a whoppin 5 bucks. I got some here. Havent tried it yet tho.
OTC sleep aids are the only thing you can do right now. You no longer have the luxury of just taking that half of a pill. Because that half a pill will turn into many, many more...

Listen bud, I Know it is hard, but if you continue to take them, even one or two, your not allowing your brain to process the w/d, in return still feeding off of the opiates. No matter what you take, it will set you back a little. I know you can do it......please stick with it....soon enough, there will be NO more symptoms.....

I was offered a Xanax by a neighbor. Said it knocks him out. I've heard bad things about Xanax and have never tried them. I politely declined.

my boyfriend is on day 4 today... the only thing that has helped him sleep is a glass of red wine before bed and some melatonin.

throw it out. youre only tempting yourself and torturing yourself by keeping it around. or give it to your wife.

Gotcha. The wife has the bottle and well hid. I only have a lonely half of 5 mg sitting in a drawer that has been there for 3 days. I haven't touched it. I'll try the Naproxen tonight if I have problems. Thanks. This board helps so much.

Ok for the aching, thats probly just something youll have to deal with. Your body is healing. Naproxen is like Ibuprofen. Its non addictive and docs give it out by the gallon. It may or may not work. I dont know, but I do know that youre ALMOST THERE my friend, dont take that half a pill. If I were you, Id flush what ya got down that toity right now.

Will those other type of meds work? I have some Naproxen too that I was prescribed along with Vicodin many moons ago. I mean, do they take that aching pain away?
