Had Major tooth problem, gonna strike clean time off if this continues

if things like this keep happening to me Im gonna have to strike out my clean time I guess. Ive had too many darn times where Ive had to use narcotics in the past year since being clean (back injury etc). I started getting sick the last couple days, then my face swelled up and my tooth started throbbing so bad that I didnt sleep for 2 nights in a row..turns out massive infected tooth (same one i was supposed to get pulled about a month or so ago but didnt). OMG i just wanted to chop my own head off it hurt so bad. I went to the dentist late yesterday and he pulled it out but wow, that was one of the worst tooth extractions Ive ever been through (and Ive had some BAD ones in my years) ONce again like last tooth I had done, the fricken novacain wouldnt work cuz the infection was so bad i guess. It made my cheek and EYE numb though @@.  ANyhow he finally got it halfway numb so I could only feel about 50% fo the procedure...and the tooth did NOT want to come out!! I dont know why- you'd think one that had gone so bad would just pop right out, but ohh nooo, it put up a fight! it took what seemed forever (in reality probably 15 minutes at the most) for him to pry, prod, dig and yank the tooth out. He even had to put his foot up on the chair for leverage for god sakes!!  It really messed my mouth up- my face is so swollen today on that side, my jaw is kiling me, even that side of my tongue is swollen!! It throbbed so bad all night long I couldnt sleep for yet another night in a row! I hate this! Im on Tylenol 3's now.  He asked me if I wanted Vicodin ES and i told him NO.  I didnt say why, just said Id prefer somethign with less acetominophin in it so I left with the T3 script instead.  They sure dont work that good though. I have to take 2 and half at once to get even the slightest relief, along with Motrin 800.  Anyhow, thats whats goin on with me now.
PS my oldest son was sicker than a dog yesterday, puking all day long every 20 minutes!! It was awful! My poor baby! Thankfully i was able to keep him hydrated despite that and he is fine today now. And so far no one else shows any signs of catching this, so maybe it was something he ate. I sure hope the rest of the family doesnt catch it. what an Easter that would make lol.

I feel for you too, I got an abscessed tooth a few years ago.  The tooth was fine no cavity or anything but I used to grind my teeth and that's what caused it apparently.  I had root canal work done and I had to go back time and time again because the tooth still hurt I eventually had it pulled it was a back molar.  But it was a traumatic thing, he had to pull so hard I though my jawbone was going to come out too.  I wear a nightguard now.

thx..and i couldnt abuse these T3's if i wanted to...for one they dont get me high, for anotehr they only gave me 14 of them. Im freaked out now though, i made the mistake of inspecting my mouth in the mirror a lil bit ago.....holy crappp the whole bottom/base of tongue is so messed up looking!! its BRUISED and swollen so bad under there its scary looking! He musta banged the helll out of my tongue bottom with his tools or something!! I wish i hadnt of looked, it makes it worse knowing how bad it looks!!

do not throw in the towel yet, taken meds as prescribed for a ligitament reason, i was told is not a relaspe, people get sick, they have surggery, life happens, i admire your honesty,,,i hate to see you hurting, you have been so good to me, if there is anything i can do let me know

I know about PAIN and I feel for you, i hope you get well real fast, so you dont have to take any meds at all. Good Luck

You poor thing!! That's awful - I really feel your pain. I had a tough extraction a few months ago myself. Doc had to pull on my chin for leverage!! There is absolutely nothing worse than all that! I just want to tell you this tho - if you are not abusing the pain meds, and you are being honest with yourself and those close to you, then you really do not need to change ur clean time! IMO clean time comes down to whether you are getting high or abusing meds, not just if you are taking them. Make sense? Ultimately it's up to you, but if you are honest with yourself you'll know whether you need strike it or not. Hope you feel better!
