Gosh... Noah, I too am inspired.  We should feel ashamed that we would consider another forum when we both get such inspiration and give inspiration to others here. Hold on I need a tissue.........Thanks NautyOne for your inspiration, both Noah and I REALLY needed it to realize how great this forum really is!

Call a walgreens...I don't think anyone here should be offering dosing suggestions. It is dangerous and god-forbid something bad were to happen, it would be awful if it was based on someone's suggestion. Call a walgreens, tell them about the methadone and then say that a doctor prescribed the morphine and ask about dosing and interactions. That is your safest option, short of actually going to the doc.

i really doubt the morphine in that amount will be able to break through the methadone, thats the whole point of methadone from what i understand, you might want to just make him go to the ER. mixing anything with methadone is asking for trouble.

i dont know anything about methadone ,how long has he been in pain , is he still able to pee... the only thing that worries me is that if the stone is to big to pass on its own then he will have to see a doctor ...is he running a fever ?

Thanks guys, he keeps wanting to wait so we havent gone yet.  He wants to get 4 /30mg morphine tabs from brother, who is on the way over.  What's your opinion on him taking 1 with the methadone?  Would it even work?  He is soooo stubborn, but if in enf pain he'll go....i think

normally they start out with ,a med called toradol (not narcotic) believe it or not it tends to work really well with kidney stones......then if that does not control pain it is on to Demerol (sp) or morphine .
Depending on size will have alot to do with how long they keep you .Sometimes they will give you a script of vikes or oxys and send you home, sometimes you can pass it there....Then every once and a while you have to stay in the hospital (only happened to me once ) . Sometimes they have to put a stint in ....plus if you get a kidney infection they sometimes keep you over night to control infection.
I hope this helps

Men have a harder time passing stones than women..for obvious reasons..

Hope he gets help.

I wouldn't worry about that happening. ER doctors are incredibley reserved when it comes to prescibing pain medications. I would be more worried about him having to deal with pain that an overdose. The doctors aren't really going to take his tolerance into consideration when prescribing meds. I was saying that they would have to give me a lot for it to do anything....but I highly doubt that they will do that. Trout is probably right in guessing vicodin or percocet, both of which would have very little effect.

Yeah, I think they gave him morphine the last time (5 months ago).  I don't want the docs to OD him, just nervous.

I doubt anything will do much for him. Methadone is a full opiate agonist, which means that the drug is trying to occupy all the opiate receptors in the body. The goal is to have other drugs not work for an addict, ultimately deterring them from using their drug of choice. The doctor will know what to do, but they would have to give him a lot of oxy or morphine for it to have any effect. 90 mgs of methadone is a pretty good sized dose.

More than likey it will be an opiate of some sort.  Probably an injection first and then something to go home with.  That's just my guess though.  I've read a little about it and that is the most common thing prescribed.  Probably Vicodin or Percocet.
