But, all you have to do is take one Vicodin or Percocet (or maybe more) (total time, less than one second) and you will be perfectly fine. Much easier and better feeling. I tried sobriety and not to be the total jerk here, but I couldn't come up with a reason throughout my two weeks that I enjoyed, even a little part, of being sober. When I'm on my pills, I'm able to play with my children and the opiates block my physical pain (which keeps the mental part of the brain completely sharp) to the point that I have received three promotions in the past year I've been on everything. Sorry, just don't see positives.
I know this is an old post but just in case you still come here i wanted to thank you for all of this incredibly helpful information. My husband is unfortunately not by his own request being forced to detox per his doctor who has neglected to give him the proper medications post op from back surgery. It has taken us a few days to realize that its withdrawals that he is going through but now that we know it may be too late for some of this helpful info but some of it will be incredibly helpful. I just wanted to thank you SO much from the bottom of my heart.
Thanks
an old saying
If you have nothing good to say , dont say anything :)
If someone took 5 tries to quit and suceeded on 5th try , woudnt that be worth it>?
(shrug)
Just thought how much this would have helped me when i quit, that it may help someone else. I didnt know this stuff till many days after.
Teach me to think lol.. some people......
I wish I would have known about it a couple of days ago I am on day 2 and have no energy to go to a store and get those things. But I printed it out incase I or someone I know goes thru this.
DAM,,is the name of this site the quiting one more time site, if you folks spent just a fraction of the time you spend on ,,recipes for withdrawals, substitute drugs ,,etc . on plans for actual recovery you would probably have alot better chance of NOT using again. I"d have to go to a pharmecist convention to find people that know as much about drugs as you folks do.lol,,,lets see,,,1 pill got me here, now I"ll use 10 to get me out
Not everyone here is at the "recovery" stage some are coming here and have not yet stopped, are scared and looking for advice please do not discredit these people for trying to get started toward recovery...it takes time..
Stephanie
Hi,
I cant take credit for it. I found it somewhere and copy/paste, but I wish i knew this stuff before.
I just quit one day :).. I suffered greatly until I started taking the advice I found here. I badly wanted to stop , just could have saved myself some pain is all.
I just hope this brings someone some relief.
Mike
Thats yer problem,,,detox is FREE,,quit using to quit using,,,,,and if your an addict you"ll always be an addict
recovery should start when you quit,,maybe if " someone " knew that they wouldnt need the other 4 tries
Theres also an old saying about being misinformed by the misinformed
ok if you goto detox they give you pills, detox cost money and some people dont have that, so this is an alternate solution for detox not a lifetime matinence. whatever it takes to get you out of an addiction do it, everyone is different, that why diffrent people do different things.
Wow, thanks for taking the time to write that!
It is best to plan your detox needs and shop in advance of starting. When you externally provide the body with chemicals that alter the brain, the body reads the signal and reacts by stopping its own natural production levels. So, when you cold turkey stop the external source, it jolts your body and whiplashes your system into wakeup mode. All those little workers have been snoozing for however long you have been administering the external supply source. Now the alarm bells are ringing all throughout your system, and they are running around like keystone cops screaming
