Help Please

Hello, I have been a norco addict for over 3 years now, ever since the death of my father. I had a back injury at the time and it seemed like the pills made me forget about reality. Well within 3 years I lost my house, my marriage and my job. I was taking up to 40 pills a day. I am ashamed to say. I was just wondering if there is anyone out there that has been through anything like this and if so can offer some advice. I have been clean for a week now and I feel like ****. But I can feel like I am starting to get my life back. Those pills can really rob you of your soul. I had everything a man could want in life and lost it all because I couldn't stop using. I hope there is someone out there that can relate. Thanks....Jay

hi Jays..

yeah, it was similar for me.  not as many pills, and not as long, but started with back stuff, my dad died during it, and the pill use ramped up...

you CAN recover.

there's a number of ways.  i ultimately chose Suboxone.

no matter how you choose to get clean, the big question is how to stay clean.  and you will need a plan, and support. i think that is the key...

i'm so, so sorry for what you've been through.

please just know life CAN turn around.  and you can get back to a full, and joyful, life.  i promise you that...

very warmlyy...

I forgot to congratulate you on your 1 week clean! That is so awesome! The first week is usually the hardest part of the physical w/d. Good Job!

Welcome! This is a great place to get support...glad you are here. You will find many who share your story and can give support. I have been addicted on and off for 3 years and you are right when you say the drugs rob you of your soul. I feel like a zombie when Im using. But the great thing is that you've stayed clean for a week! You're well on your way! You give me hope that I can kick this thing for good...take care and keep us posted, it really helps!

Your story is all too common. Welcome to our forum. We all can relate to some (or all) part of your story. The good news is you have kicked it! You should start feeling better now. The hardest part is staying clean! Be sure to set up aftercare, like NA or AA even counseling is a good idea. It helps you figure out why you needed to block out reality.
