Help for xanax withdrawal Urgent!!!

I really some help and advice. I've been seeing my psych Dr for 4 years and he's had me up to 10 mg a day and now he won't see me. We had a good relationship and he's a addiction specialist. I've tried many treatment ctrs and they don't do benzo's. I have no insurance or money and the ER isn't going to do anything, so I have to do cold turkey....my atty said to sue, but right now I'm concerned with my well being. I have no choice but to go off without help. I have even called to get help to go off and he won't answer and lied about trying to wean me...he never did....I had several medical issues and stressors that led to this....Can someone please give me advice...I have no money so another dr is not a option. I live in the burbs of IL....Please Advise...Thank You!!

Who did he lie to about weaning you off the Xanax ?  That's the person you need to speak with...

You have to taper very slowly off xanax,,,,,you can have seizures hon!

Please call that doctor again.....calmly and let him know you know how dangerous it is to stop these meds CD.  Start there....if he won't help, and I just can not believe he won't......he knows the dangers.  Then get on the phone and find another doctor now!

are u totally out of xanax?  That is a pretty high dose.  I am struggling with getting off 2mgs. You can try to go to the pharmacy and just have them call the doctor to get a refill & see if that works. Also, if you start going into w/d & go to the ER, they have to at least keep you until you are physically stable.  Is there more to this story? Xanax is a nightmare & i wouldn't have ever touched that stuff if I had known everything I know now.  You will find a solution, just try to relax.

Hey, You can actually have sezuirs or even die from xanax withdrawl. I take xanax for anxiety also and I live in the burbs of illinois. Message me ASAP!

oh, he just told my counselors that we talked about weaning....Ummm...He's writng the Rx's!! I'll be seeking legal action, but not my concern now and their aware of how hard he has been and he's a top notch Dr...not anymore!!

I've been with him for 20 years and he said at that level the dr that gave them to me should be helping me...I don't want him to be in any trouble...I'm gonna give hell to that Dr. and he was so nice....always seen me..it's bizarre he's not giving me something to wean off!!!

HI you need to find s doctor to help you ween off these 10mg is a lot and your going to go threw tearable withdrawals to say the least but from that high of dose your also going to risk seizure this isd something you and a doctor will need to taper off from you cant do this alone from home it requires professional help to do I cam off 4mg of this stuff and it was brutal please get help.......Gnarly

I suggest you google the Ashton Manual for help with your taper - it might be a good idea to show it to your doctor if he is not benzo wise. Xanax is a short/acting benzo and you may want to cross over to Valium when you are at a Lowe stage in your Xanax taper. This is a wonderful site but I would also recommend www.************.org who have a taper section and can help you/your doctor through your taper.

yes...you can i have and i also went unresponsive for 10 hrs. this **** is no joke buht for me it was hard cause i was an addict and the drs. didnt wanna ween me off they would give me enough for a couple days no one wants to b the one to do it..it seems like they r all scared... cause the wd r soooo very serious!!!
