Help please. Day 6 of opiate withdrawal.

Hello all. I would just like to say I'm on day 6 of opiate withdrawal. A little back ground I'm 26 female who needs to use daily. Ive been addicted to any kind of opiate for the last 4 years. I Bang (IV) anything from oxy, methadone, morphine, and heroine anything that I can get my hands on for the day. I've tried to quit numerous times over the last year but fail every time. I'm sick of pawning my precious items being broke everyday waking up feeling like **** and only caring about my next fix. I never thought I would grow up and be a drug addict. I don't really have a support system which is why I am here. My friends and family have no idea so rehab is not an option also I have a really good job that would let me go if they knew I had a drug problem. So quitting on my own is the only way. Every time
I try to quit I make it to day 6 and cave :( ... I guess I'm just really looking for someone to talk to and give hope. I'm sorry if I am rambling and my post is hard to follow my head is all over the place and I have gotten very little sleep these last 6 days. I appreciate anyone's comments. Thank you. AA

Hello lulu.. What a rough night ... The horrible stomach pains returned for hours until sweet sleep finally came ... I managed about 4 1//2 solid hours.  Still feel horrible with withdrawals... It's day 10. I would of thought something would change by now. I am greatfull that the headache has not returned. Hoping something gives soon. Oh Lazyann it's ok :) the main thing is you started again. You have support here, use it! I know I have .. That stupid pill is so not worth it. You so got this! We each have a beautiful life we need to fight for. And I'm fighting with everything I got .. As for me still miserable as day 1 .. but still clean.

Awe Ash-

I'm just checking in before I hopefully sleep and was so stoked to read this.  Good for you for walking and napping and trying to eat and push fluids.  At first the gains are so small you barely notice them but in a couple of days you will be miles better.  Then it is purely mental which is where the aftercare and extra support kicks in.  The memories of detox can fade faster than you think when temptation knocks or you have a bad day.  Until you eliminate all associates with the drugs, and do some work to develop new coping strategies- you are at great risk of relapse.  I really hope you consider this and all you've been through and INVEST in yourself and your new and beautiful life.  It's scary at first, but not as scary as a life of active addiction.  I believe in you Ash and I am rooting for you.
May you rest sweet and easy tonight

Lulu and atthebeach I managed to shower and get ready which took almost 2 hours lol I was so exhausted but managed to go for a walk bout 8 blocks there and back. It was very refreshing to get outside and join the world. I also managed to make it to the store .. My groceries are getting pretty low since I haven't left the house in almost 10 days. I also managed a 3 hour nap which was amazing. I don't feel so much like a zombie anymore.. Still horrible withdrawals.. No headache .. And my aching tummy has returned ... I can handle aching .. I've been pushing fluids and trying to eat small things here and there. DJersey it's so nice to hear that you daughter is doing well... It's the toughest thing I've ever done in my life ... Thank you for the encouragement .. Is your daughter looking for a job and housing ??

the irritable bowel can last on and off  for quite some time.
if you don't want to use the Imodium. you could adhere to the
BRAT diet, bananas, rice, apples or applesauce and toast.
it is the recommended diet for diarrhea.
you might not have had symptoms until day 8 because your system so was backed up.
opiates paralyze the intestinal muscles.

did you go for that walk?
