What's most effective for chills?

Hi, I'm back. I wasn't far, I peeped in & out. I've still not started my 1/2 a day Norco. Still at 2 sometimes 1. I have got to rid myself of these demons! I work along side law enforcement so taking time off is not an option. I'm still taking the Thomas recipe stuff everyday. The chills are what's kills me the most. What is the best thing to do for them besides hot baths? I have to be in & out of the jails all day long. I keep praying & trying to tell myself I can do this. Oh btw my BF hasn't taken ANY norco's for 2 weeks!! Go him!! I'm trying people, I swear. I'm gonna try the 1/2 a day tomorrow. Wish me luck!

For me the immodium is a god send.  It is a very weak opiate and definitely helps with some of the nasty WD symptoms like chills and sweating.  I agree though, you've got to limit your useage and stop as soon as you can, otherwise you just end up with another problem.  But my thoughts are that anything you can use to help get you over that initial stage is worth it.
good luck!

Just weighing in on the Imodium...took my chills and the "buzzing" feeling in my chest away...just took a couple in the morning to get me through the work day as it will cause issues if you take too much for too long.

Immodium does help but only use if you have loose stool.

hi,
just wanted to weigh in on the chills, I am going through them too and get achy to the bone with cold.  When you can't take a bath or lay down with a heating pad, try one of those theracare strips.  I slap on one and they last a good 8-10 hours.  sometimes if you just get a little part of you warm, it helps the rest of you...good luck!

Besides the hot Epsom baths and heating pads..maybe ibuprofen.  Keep riding it out and fighting.  You can do this.  Keep pushing onward and upward.  Fight for it and move on. Best of luck!

I agree with kleighn.  sleeping and resting/sitting with a heating pad was very effective for me when I got the chills, which was often and prolonged.  I can't think of much you can do while on the go except lots of layers.  Eventually it will subside.  you're trying and sounds like youre winning!  keep going.  good luck!

Thank you so much for the encouragement! I have 9 brain tumors & suffer from debilitating headaches. I've been on 4 10/325 for probably 10 years. I've tried so many other meds & this is what works for me. I'm so sick of taking them! I went from 12-15 a day to 8 to 4 to 2...& I'm having a hell of a time tapering further. I only have a few days worth of meds left. I work 7 on & 7 off in a diff state. So detoxing here is best, I don't have "friends" I can run to & give them most of my hard earned money! But I just am having a hard time trying to detox away from my  home. Prob an excuse. Lol but I feel better feeling like **** st my own home. I have enough to last the work week as long as I can stick to the 1/2 a day.

Good job hun. You'll get there. Chills still kill me and I'm almost 11 days into detox of methadone. I slept with a heating pad and literally took like 5 baths a night sometimes more when I could. An allergy med like benadryl may Benefit you as iit gave little relief for me. But really, you just gotta ride it out like the warrior you know you are inside. You can do it. It's hell but only temporary.
