Lorazepam?

I'm seeing alot of posts about Benzos. Not sure what they are but I did look up Lorazapam and noticed that it too is a benzo.
I'm wondering, is this something I should not even think about taking?
I have anxiety and depression already but since detoxing, the anxiety is outta this world. It is occuring at least every 30 minutes.
I posted yesterday that I would contact my Dr this morning but in the meantime, I found some Lorazapam from a couple years ago.
As having taken this off and on for many years, I do not remember it to be addictive at all.

i think i've mentioned this to you before that i'm a certified pharmacy technician. if the pills you've found are older than 365 days, then you need to throw them out, as they may become toxic and cause serious side effects and possibly even be fatal, at times. depending on the drug. this is a benzo, so i have no doubt in my mind that it would be safer than sorry to just throw them out.

not to mention, like others have posted here, although this drug does help came you down and some do take this while going through WDs, it's also very addictive. with that being said, i would just speak with your PCP first and then make a decision from there about what to do next.

best of luck!!  <333

I agree with VIcki.  From very personal experience, benzos w/d is harder than opiate w/d and you can become addicted or dependent on it quite quickly.  I have been on them for 2+ years for sleep and have been tapering as fast as I can since my opiate detox 50 days ago....Not fun.
Have you tried alternate treatment for anxiety?  Counselling, meetings, deep breathing/meditation, exercise....Valerian root is nature's valium and I find it very effective.  All the things that I listed are what has helped me through the anxiety of both opiate and now benzo w/d.

Again-I would have to agree with Vicki-talk to your doctor.  There are other non-addictive ways to deal with your anxiety....Lu

It IS addicting so be careful with it. A dose here and there is not a problem but dosing several times a day, every day, can be a big problem. Once addicted to this, the withdrawals are pretty severe and the drug always has to be tapered to be safe.

The best thing would be to run it by the doctor.
