How ya feeling man? Thanks for your positive energy. I'm still clean. I have been burnt out on the program before, but in the end its the only way I've ever maintained any substantial clean time. I don't use it as my crutch anymore, just part of an overall lifestyle. Fishing and mother nature play a huge role also. Best of luck man.
Hi Ben,
Glad you seem to be feeling more positive and have a strong support system, that is crucial. Also do the therapy to try and resolve the underlying issues that have made you want to escape or numb the pain. Definitely do your best to stop now because it only gets harder. I have been on this roller coaster for years and I want OFF. I have come a long way but still more to go. I, too, have young children (5 year old twin boys) and a professional career that I love and would never want to jeapordize. If you put in the work you will do it. Like everyone said, withdrawals should not be horrible given the length of use but I know the mental part is tough. Kudos on a full day clean, keep your eye on the prize! If you need to talk, feel free to reach out. And keep posting, this group is AMAZING and I never would have come as far as I have without them. JJ
Great to see your doing better! Always makes my day when someone is over the hump! lol Anxiety doing better? Keep up the great work!
Thanks brother. Ya, I'm on a mental roller coaster really. It's been over 24hrs since my last pill. I don't do NA AA anymore. I did that for 2 yrs straight and was over the energy. I'm hitting the gym tonight to get the brain functioning and to kick it out of my system. My habit wasn't too long or hard the most I put in me was 60mg of norco. I've been juicing and taking supplements to feel better with a ton of water. Given the feeling today I don't think it would be too bad. I'm very lucky I didn't completely go out out. I'm staying positive doing positive reenforcements to get my normal lifestyle back. I do have a son and a career job so I have really great things to look forward to improving. I will be going to therapy as my "NA" fix so I can work on my issues. I have a great support system with my brother and best friend along with great people like you on this site to help me. I appreciate the time spent writing me. I also will be giving back and volunteering on this site to help others in need. Thank you and I hope you stay away from pills. It's a day by day situation for people like us.
From past experience I've found tapering helps a bit, but as soon as that last pill was gone the wds hit me. Not trying to discourage you. Just telling you my experience. I found lyrica to help quite a bit if you do get wds. I came off a three month bender of 4 30 mg. Oxy er and 6 10 mg. Oxy ir and had to go to work. I used lyrica for four days then quit when I started feeling better. I also exercised, chugged water like crazy and got through it. I also used .5 of klonopin at night and a tiny bit of weed. I quit both of those after day four. Also hit NA meetings for support. Best of luck to you brother!! God Bless. I've been hassled on other posts for suggesting klonopin and weed. But I used them to sleep as I had to work while wding then quit immediately as benzos can grab you by the ***.
I did not get a message from you =(
I sent you a message and thanks again for your kind words
you just need to relax! You are working yourself up take a deep breath and relax. You can do this and its just a couple days of yucky then the mental but fresh air, exercise, positive thinking will help! Oh yea and venting on here helped me a ton!
You got this!!!!
Hey buddy, I'm coming close to an end with these horrible pills I didn't really taper down like I explained but I've taken 4 1/2 today and then I'm going to two tomorrow but split them into 4s and do halfs as I need them. I've just felt a little anxiety just thinking Im coming off them. But I'm sure that's normal. I can deal with the physical part it's just the mental part im scared of. Am I going to be ok? I just need a little support words of experience man. I feel a little scared ibkleen. Any advice? I'm not going to go in shock or anything am I? It's all in my head right? Hot baths I guess to ease the anxiety. I never want to go through this again. I'm going to take more action into my issues. Thanks, anybody who would like to step in.
Thank you for your time as well sonrissa
I am lucky to have caught this before it got out of hand. You're awesome with spendng the time out of your day to provide info. I know about the Thomas Recipe and I'm going to check it out. Big thanks for your time. I can't wait to be free from all this. I think my age played a big factor in stopping so early being 37 my body can't take such a beating anymore.
Hi Ben, walking, jogging, and actually exercise in general especially if it's outside will really help. When I was withdrawaling, I always felt better when I got outside and went for a walk. Exercise will help you with the lack of energy and motivation you may feel. Eating healthy is also a great idea. Eat as much fresh food as possible. Stay away from processed stuff, and caffeine if possible.
Hope that helps! Best wishes!
Hey Ben.....well the jucing thing can help but I would loose the peppers and if it make you run to the bathroom I would stop altogeather until you detox one of the worst symptoms is dehydration from the bathroom ishues for most I recamend a case of gatoraid and keep forcing it down your habit is small and light you will feel something but it will be very mild sleep can be a problem so camamel tea will help your lucky to ketch this so soon many of us had years of use to kick from myself included dont read anything into it just take it day by day you may want to go to the bottom of the screen and check out the thomas recipe it has a lot of good vitamin and supplements that will help keep you going

If you can step in whenever you get a chance with the things I've mentioned. I would be grateful for your opinion. Thanks
I'm also juicing as well while I'm tapering. I do feel it in waves the difference in dosage. But I'm expecting body change while tapering plus juicing is probably pushing the chemicals out a little faster than without juicing. My juice entails of Kayan pepper kale wheat grass and lemon. Maybe some Yoga style breathing incase of random anxiety?? Anyways, just thoughts im shooting out here. Whenever you get a chance to respond. Thanks
Would taking walks or light jogs while I'm tapering down help with recovering, getting some out of my system and getting the chemicals activating naturally in my brain so I don't get depression anxiety etc???? Today I've tapered down to 4. Thanks guys!
Thank you. You're both super nice and given me more than just advice. I will keep you guys posted.
Hi Ben, I totally agree with the above. I would not think your detox would be too severe. Your taper plan sounds good. Keep posting with any questions. We are here to support you. Exercise is the best thing, and will really help. Make sure you keep very well hydrated.
Take care. You can do this! I wish you all the best.
I can't thank you enough. My anxiety just disappeared as soon as I read this thank you thank you. I will post a update in a few days. God bless you ibkleen
Hi & Welcome,
Since you have on been on them 44 days I think the detox should be pretty painless. You may have some stomach issues and lack of sleep. Exercise is a great idea and will surely help. We always recommend it. Make sure you eat and stay hydrated. Take vitamins and minerals to try and keep yourself healthy as you can. Add fruits and vegetables to your diet as much as you can. All of this is good all the time but it is also helpful during withdrawal.
Your taper is a fast one but again, since you haven't been on them long you should be okay.
Keep posting and let us know how you are doing.
