How long do I really have to wait to take my 1st Suboxone?

I need REAL, "FROM THE TRENCHES" advice on using Suboxone to get me thru the Hell of W/Ds...been taking 15-20 30mg Roxi's/ day for over a year, I have tried to detox but live with another addict (my husband) and it is Waaaaay past time to take back my life! I have to do this right this time.....What really works with the Suboxone? How long do I wait after I take my last Roxi?  Can I take Xanax and sleep until I get into hard W/Ds then take Subs?  I got a script for 10 Subs and not much advice.....who has done this at home? I AM LITERALLY DYING TO GET CLEAN!

You need to be in moderate withdrawal (typically 24 hours after your last dose) before you start taking the suboxone.  The doctors use the COWS scale.  You can find that here....

You should not mix xanax with suboxone.  I would not reccomend taking the xanax while waiting for your withdrawal to kick in.  If you feel you can't make it without it, you need to ask the doctor.

OK first of all suboxone should never be used without supervision of a Doctor. 2nd of all if you really want to get clean your husband should be trying to get clean or esle its never going to happen trust me on that. The amount of pills you were taking is do-able just going to be hard. Im still in the first week of my suboxone, and it truly does help but Im also going to a clinic and being monitored. Xanax should not be mixed at all with the subs. The pills are suposed to be dissolved under the tounge and not swallowed. You need to at LEAST 24 hours before taking your first suboxon or else your going to go into hardcore withdraws. One last thing if you do end up taking any kind of opiate while taking suboxone you will not feel the high and you will just get extremely sick.
