Naltrexone
Hi, does anyone on this forum take Naltrexone (Revia)? It is an opioid/alcohol antagonist. Thanks!

Hi i had naltrexone implants inserted into my abdomen twice. They block heroin and opiates like valium etc. It definantly is a magic bullet. It blocks the receptors therefor you feel absolutely nothing when you take drugs. But i dont know about the naltrexone given intraveniously if thats what your after. Our doctor here in Perth ( george o'neil ) was the one who designed the naltrexone implants and it works 110 percent against opiates. Its bloody brilliant !! Anything else is a copy of his work, so i dont know if the needle would work the way the implants do. You can always google naltrexone and if you want an idea of how ours work, google " FRESH START RECOVERY PROGRAM " Doctor George Oneil, townshend rd, Subiaco. Hope this gives you some info. I have the prescription as per my psychiatrist....BUT, I don't want to think this could be a magic bullet either, so I'm sitting on the fence about this. (there isn't such a thing anyway as a magic bullet) But I really want to do this on my own steam, not because I'm taking a med to ease the path...IDK. There is work to be done because the OLD me used, and the OLD me will use again regardless. I am grateful that my first resources for relief are my Higher Power, AA, NA and of course this supportive forum!
