Just try to space them out more and more each week. Add an hour or 1/2 hour between.
The one thing about Forinal is that is causes a rebound headache as it wears off. It is not a headache beginning but a side affect of not taking more medicine. So stock up on ibuprofen or Excedrin. You will need to ride it out and deal with them till that part is gone.
Otherwise get some imodium and follow the Thomas Recipe for detoxing minus any prescription meds listed. Just taper steady each week. You can do it. But stay strong and resist temptation. Keep yourself busy so you are not thinking of it. A busy mind forgets the time etc.
Hi Kristen. Welcome to the forum. This is a very doable situation. I was on Fioranol before too. It's important to write down dose and time to make sure you know you are taking less. I like support groups. People are helpful & experienced and understand. Start attending today. Pamela
HI there..
you are not alone...I didn't have a script for percocets, and my 93 yr old mother was taking them for constant arthritic pain. Of course I helped myself, I asked her, for one or two, but then I knew where they were. I have heard many same stories in NA about this. The addict has no rationale, and thoughts of others, even your Mum, will go out the window. I had to come clean with her, and bless her, she gave up the script for my sake and just takes Tylentol x strength. Total support for me. Is this an option for you , to tell your family about this? You won't feel alone, and they will have your back....just my thoughts. Again, please don't beat yourself up for what you had to do ... we have all been there..
