Hubby in the dark

So ive been taking vicodin now for about 7 months. 2-6 750mg a day. Im on day two with no pills!!! Its been hard because i stay with my grandpa and my husband. Neither one knows about the pills. Yesterday i had a hell of a day i ate once and was throwing up and had dieria. Then i got about 2 hours of sleep. I need something to help hide my withdrawles. Or at least help me keep food on my stomach. If my husband found out i think he would leave me and i cant have that any sugestions out there?

My partner knew I was taking them for years and years and warned me about them for years and years, argued with me, threatened to leave, etc.. of course I denied having a problem so when I reached the point I was really scared of telling him that yes he was right and I was a completely out of control addict.  But when I came clean, like yours he said "i know that" and I too didnt get any 'atta girls' from him, but he was super happy that I was finally being honest and taking whatever steps necessary to get clean.

Hey there congrats on the 2 days. I know about the fear of being honest with the hubby. My guy is super straight so I was fearful of telling him. I did though and he said, "i know that!"  I don't know if he did or not but he did help with taking care of things I usually do. child care, housework, phone calls.
I didn't get any atta girls from him but I lots of them here.

You go girl !    You can make it. Little D and I will pray for you.

I agree, honesty=best policy.  Part of the major problem w/opioids and addiction is that people don't understand the chemistry that underlies these drugs.  I don't care if someone took hydros for fun or for pain/surgery/etc.  The effects are still the same.  Why would your husband leave you if he understood what these drugs do to people.  OPIOIDS are no respector of persons.  They do what they do.  Dependence and addiction are inevitable if taken over any time period that exceeds an ACUTE pain phase.  I've found that once people understand the technicalities like agonist, half life, receptors, etc, they can get past the "blame phase" and actually be of some support to their loved ones.  However,,,w/d 's mimic a real bad flu, if you've had a flu shot and a bad reaction to it, even better:)  Hang in there.. 7 month habit (compared to those of us who have dealt with this for years) is absolutely fairly easily handled.  You will have withdrawals yes, but after the acute phase 1-2 wks.  You should be feeling pretty good and clean.  Good luck and good for you for dealing with it now instead of in another 6 months, the longer---the harder:)

Its always better to be honest but if you feel like you cant, just claim the flu (stomach flu and regular flu) for a few days.  (Thats what I did for my job as I had to take 10 days off).
