help, finally doing it

Only on day 1. I tried weaning myself but it just doesnt work. My doc told me to go to the psychiatric hosp but they told me i wasn't taking enough for my insurance to cover me inpatient. And that w/d off of narcotics doesn't present a life threat like a benzo can put you into seizures. I was really hoping to do the suboxone thing. My doc said it would really help short term, then abstinance rather than a naltraxone insert. Anyway, I am scared to death. I take 3 1/2 10's of vic a day. That like 35mg 3 x per day. Is this a lot????? I read your posts that people are still going thru stuff on day 6/7. how long is the worst gonna be??? I am mostly scared of the depression. I am on an antidepressent and I bought nordic naturals fish oil(which is the best)  to help with the depression along with most of the other supplements that I will need. Can I just take enough sleeping pills to sleep for days thru this?? Anyway, insurance *****...I guess someone would have to slit their wrists to get approved to be inpatient.

Congrats on qutting...WOW 2 yrs and still at that dose is great..Be lucky you stopped now and can read here how many some of us were taking...Never when i was taking 2 a day did i ever think i could possibly take as many as i was....You should be ok, and really glad you are doing this on your own at that amount..Smart doctor!!

Thanks so much. I am going to try to do what you say. I am not severly depressed yet, but I know I will go thru it. I still just want to lay in bed cause I don't get to have my high today. That is the worst part to get over. Not getting to have the good feeling anymore. Hopefully I will learn to be happy in life again. I never had a problem with addiciton until my late 30's and it has gone on for about 2 years. It was by accident that I exerienced the euphoria on vicoden and I let it get out of control. I have had past depression problems so this feeling was really great.

I'm on day 11 of hydrocodone detox, at home.  I was taking 8-10 10mg a day.  Yes, the first week can suck, that's reality.  But read posts here, post questions and concerns. Your dose is low, you'll probably feel like you have the flu.
get rid of ALL temptation! flush the drugs you may have left, cause you'll want to take them to relieve the discomfort you may have,
you can do this.
you're fine.
one day at a time.

Ok I just wanted to get a message to you as I'm a slow typer :) The reason you were turned down is because your wd can be done without medical supervision... I'm so glad you are choosing the Natural route as the others would add to your depression.. I strongly advice against sleeping pills... You may not be able to sleep and it would suck to stay awake and feel those.. Try Benadryl it has less side effects.. Hot baths and showers.. a few a day or as many as make you feel better.. Walk a lot if weather permitted or exercise anything to keep moving.. You will speed up the process of wd.. and it will help with depression..  you will feel ache and tired you may experience rls where your legs feel a need to move.. There is a product called Hyland restful leg that will help although you may not even get this symptom :) You will be ok think of it like having the flu.. Stay up late soak in the tub watch a good movie our two.. It's all good.. When this is behind you You will be free of a substance that has made a slave of you.. Hello and welcome to the forum.. Try not to freak yourself out to bad.. You are on a low dose yes you will go through wd nothing that you can not handle.. Really you may not even have all the symptoms of somebody on a higher dose.. Calm down you can do this... lesa
