Hydro Withdrawals & RLS

Hi everyone.  I'm new to this forum and had a question about Hydro w/d and RLS and to find out how to get through the RLS and ask you what your experience has been.  Does the RLS get better or go away when w/d subside?  How bad/easy was it for you to get over?  How long did it take to sleep well again?  I have been taking 4 to 8 hydros a day for the last two years for back problems.  I decided to quit c/t and today is day two.  My w/d are mild headaches, a little appetite loss (not much), basically feeling a bit unfomfortable, but that's about it.  Sleep is the hardest.  I sweated last night and tossed and turned and finally got to sleep around 6am (yikes!).  The RLS was unbelievable.  Other than that, during the day I take some advil, tylenol, and some Imodium and I feel OK.  Any suggestions about getting through the RLS?  How long until it should disappear?

Thanks!
B

Thank you, this sounds like good advice.  I'm a little nervous and am hoping there are no more w/d surprises at night.  I am hoping the nausea will not come back.  I don't know what's worse, laying down and feeling acutely nauseated, or sitting up all night trying to find a way to be comfortable.   Ugh.  How much longer till I can function again?

Everyone is different and the some people's RLS is worst then others. For me, RLS was my worst symptom each time I quit. Some times it would be in arms, then my legs, or both. I wanted to gnaw my limbs off literally. So I know how bad it gets. A trick I learned, if you notice, and at least this was a definite with me, the RLS was only present or at its worse at nightime and that is because you are finally trying to rest your brain will not let you because your body is craving the drug, so before beds take a warm bath, take some Hylands restless legs, and once you are in bed, if the RLS starts in the legs, get up and take a walk around the house, or up and down the steps. Do this for about 10 mins and try to go back to bed and contnue to do this until you fall asleep. If its the arms, move your arms about for 10 mins....this will help you to fall asleep and bypass a night of RLS. Depending on how bad. Good luck.

Whelp.  Here I am.  It's 3am and I can't sleep.  Forget the RLS....now I am so nauseated!!!!  It feels like I am car sick.  I NEVER feel this way.  This is so foreign to me.  I lay down and I feel my head spinning and I want to throw up.  My head is racing and I can't quiet my thoughts.

PLEASE HELP!!!

Can anyone offer any advice?

Thanks,
B

Wow!  I found something called "Restful Legs" by Hylands online!  I will pick some up tomorrow at the store.  Thank you for the advice.  Have you used this before? (Has anyone on the board used this before?)  I would love to hear more before trying if I can.  This sounds like a good place to start!!

Look in the Health Pages near the top right of page. There is tons of info there to help on w/d. Including the Thomas Recipe and amino acid protocol

Welcome to the forum! RLS lasts for a week or 2 but it does stop. Hylnad's makes a good supplement for RLS
