My daily rant...part Deux.

Only 1/2 pill today...guess I dont have the balls to go cold turkey.  I want a pill right now so bad I can taste them.

I want to make sure I understand why we get in this situation.  WE go to a doc complaining of pain.  The doc gives us hydros, percs....whatever...and we start taking them.  Several months into this program we become addicted to the drug both physically and mentally.  Somewhere along this path our body/brain quits producing the natural pain killer and relies on the drugs we are taking.

After some more time the pain meds we are on begins to make our pain worse which is why we take more and more pain meds. Then we begin to take the pain meds for the high.  2 pills turn into 4, that turns into 8 and so on.

One day we wake up and say "I'm going to get clean" and the HELL begins.  Some of us try c/t and some of us try a taper program.  Most of us fail in our first attempt to get clean due to the hellish w/d symptoms which is mainly the body aches and RLS.

I guess my question is...Why dont docs tell us what will happen to us if we stay on this **** for an extended period of time?  My doc never told me anything.

Never mind all that, we all know it's all about money, they were trained to treat with pills and get paid well for prescribing pills.

The real deal here is that you are now on 1/2 a pill, this is where I got off the taper train, you will be surprised how little cravings you will have when you decide to stop now, when I was on 1/2 it was like teasing myself, the taper can only go so far. I then flushed my stash, severed my connection and now on day 3. I know this doesn't sound like a lot of time but for me it is, almost 3 years on the b a stards. I don't feel any cravings but do have some mental discomfort which will just keep getting better every day.
I wish you strength to go the last mile, now is the time.... Do it.
Tom... was 120mg Oxy a day sometimes more.

They dont tell you the long term effects due to two reasons.....
The MAIN reason is like No name22 said, they dont know the seriousness of it themselves and if you've never BEEN through it, its easy to think you can control it. Plus if they didnt put you on the drugs then they would have to say theres nothing for me to give you,...you'll have to go to a homeopathy doc or a natural cures doc who know what to do for you cause they dont specialize in that kind of medicine, they only specialize in drugs. And then they would probably be out of business cause thats all they can really advice is to take the meds.
Second reason... is those docs who DO know what there doing and the effects and do it on purpose cause the more they can get hooked on it the more business and money they get cause the people have to keep coming back to get more and more.
Plus I have read alot about MANY Docs who ended up loosing their practice because they DIDNT prescribe drugs to their patients as much as the drug company would have liked and so they ended up loosing it all because they didnt meet the "Quota". Yes...some offices and hospitals have qoutas they have to meet in order to keep recieving funding for there practice or hospital.
There is SOOOO much coruption in the medical field it isnt even funny. The drug companies push these docs to push there drugs onto the patients cause the drug companies know that means more addicted people..therefor more money. I'm really sorry if I have offended anyone here by this but I swear its the Gods honest truth.

They're not thinking of whats going to happen to us long term or do they know the extent of it...I think you have to experiance it to know whats going to happen..

Good for you!!! Only one half a pill...Thats great!!!
