New to this site.......but not to opiate use/abuse

Hey good folks.....I am newby to this site but have been lurking here and reading posts and it seems to be a really supportive helpful site. I am a 50 year old long term off and on opiate user/abuser. Have multiple "legitimate" chronic pain conditions but am really ready to end my slavery to pain medicine. I have a fairly complex set of medical issues to manage and am really concerned about wd's this time. I can elaborate further details in future posts, just wanted to sign up and kind of introduce myself......will see you guys later?????

It's great that you found the forum. No doubt when you make the decision to quit..we'll be here. This place is incredibly supportive and you will receive any advice you may need. It's always a good idea to get the opiates out of your system to really gauge where your pain levels truly are. Oftentimes OTC meds and exercise, eating better, more natural remedies help immensely. Welcome.

Hi and welcome. You are definitely in the right place and will find tons of support here. I have been clean for over 40 days off of big time doses of Vicodin. I don't have chronic pain but know exactly what it feels like to be chained to a pill bottle.
We are here for you!

Hi there and welcome!! The 1st step is admitting you have a problem, and you have. And you are willing to quit, which is positive sign. What are you currently on,how long have you been on it? What are some of your issues? A lot of us suffer from chronic pain. For many that's what turned them into addicts.

Personally,to minimize w/d symptoms,I think a taper plan is your best bet.Unfortunately we can't recommend one to you-that is best left to the doctors. have you told your docotr you want to quit?

We're here to support you!! A little more info please, and you can p.m. me if you'd like vs sharing on this thread.Good luck to you, here if you need it,and stay strong in your resolve!!
