As far as your withdrawals, the few times that I have experienced them, I was in such agony that nothing would touch it. I have heard others though talk about the clonodine helping some, just don't expect it to make a big difference. I think it is mainly to help your blood pressure which will surely be elevated during this time period and I think I have also heard it to be helpful for restless legs, so you might give it a try. Just don't get your hopes up too high, I hate to be such a downer, but if you go cold turkey off your meds, there is some extreme discomfort coming your way and you need to be prepared for it. I do have to say though that your withdrawals should be milder than say people who are taking oxycontin or morphine, etc. You will get through it. Good Luck.

Can you tell me what I may experience day one, two three and how long it last. I am scheduled for an Cardiac catheterization next Thursday and wanted to be off my meds before I went for that test. I wanted all of this behind me. Will I be okay before then? What will I be experiencing 1 1/2 weeks to 2 weeks out? OR should I wait until after the Cardiac catheterization to go off my meds?
Thanks
It states on the information packet and in all the web sites about the side effects and shortness of breath is one of them along with lightheadness.
That Cardiac catheterization is not a bad proceedure but I would not try and ct turkey before the test. I know that when I do ct because I have run out my heart beats fast and I get palpatations wait till the test is done and get the right reading from your test. Good luck
