The xanax has to be tapered. The hydrocodone can be done CT, with symptoms lasting 3 to 5 days for the worst of it! You could die from xanax WD, so you need to rethink that ok?
Get some aftercare in the form of counseling or 12 step meetings. It may save you from going through this again!!! : )
Ive heard that xanax can be dangerous to ct. Ive quit ct but after reading up on it I wouldnt do that. You may luck out and have mild wds from the hydros. I have to say quiting both at the same time is alot to handle, it can be done though. Id try and taper off the xanax for your safety and they will help with the hydro wds. Congrats on making the right decision but be safe about it. I still find it weird that the xanax is the dangerous drug to ct off of but it is what it is. The best of luck to you and be safe. Do you have someone to watch over you while you go through this?
I quit cold turkey from both xanax and tramadol almost 6 months ago and the withdrawals were the worst experience of my life. I wouldn't recommend this because I've read going cold turkey from benzodiazepines can be life threatening. Tramahater is right - please have your Dr. taper you off of those. I usually get worried when I see folks attempting tapers because I haven't seen a lot of success stories doing it that way, but that's when it is from opiates and I've read that those can be stopped cold turkey without serious consequence. But please talk to your Dr. about this. They would know best.
Good luck to you - and coming here is a great start. :)
Yes, be very careful with the CT approach to xaanax, it can literally kill you or drive u crazy enuff to want to do it yourself. The hydro is fine to stop CT you will feel like you have the flu for awhile, skin will feel flushed, feverish, mucsle aches and tiredness, it is extremely hard but if you really want it then its worth going thru and it may be bad enuff to make u never want for a hydro again. The hardest part is the lack of energy, nothing works as well to give you that buzz so just know that going in. Good luck to you and call your dr. And tell him what your going thru and how he can help(:
