well, i would wait a few weeks - a few clean weeks - and i would get properly evaluated by a Doc if you think you may have it.
like Sand and I both said tho, there ARE ways - without drugs - to combat it.. meditation, deep breathing, yoga - ANYTHING that is stress reducing.
but if it's an issue for you in general, you might wanna check it out. then you KNOW what's going on, and if things ever get out of control (so to speak) you'll know how to treat it...

Wow guys. That is totally me. I have always been one of those crazy, work 60+ hours a week, perfectionist girls my whole life. I think that's why the anxiety is hitting me so bad. I was thinking of talking to a doctor about it but I really don't want to get hooked on Xanax or anything. Is there a smart way for me to approach this or should I not try to deal with anxiety untill I am completely out of the W/D's?
Sandman - Well you almost described me to a T - LOL. And you are right - when I am diligent with stress-reducing methods (non medical) it is so, so,so much better. Pretty much non-existant. My shrink used to tell me all the time to get out of my head - I was getting in my way....
Shama - it says 10 days, but I hope to take for less. I believe you are supposed to start the day of your w/d, but somone else said if you can get it in your system a little bit earlier, that's great. Other than that, the only other med. i know is recommended is a benzo, too (valium, klonopin, etc.)

How long do you take clonodine? I saw people were taking like 4 medications. Is that just for withdrawls? Thanks again!!
.....well I am hoping the worse of it is over......and mainly caused/exasperted by the withdraw........I guess I am intellectualizing to an extent, but I know it's in my head and my new motto is: Keep it simple. Low drama. Get organized and lean to relax (Yoga)
Turns out that people with our disorders also tend to suffer from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and Attention Deficit issues as well.
People like us (well I can speak for myself) are kinda perfectionists, we like order, we tend to be pretty successful in what we do professionally, but we think too much and can't turn our brains off. Easily distracted. Never finishing projects......docs say that all those traits can go hand in hand with anxiety.
Anyway, I feel pretty good now......10 days clean.

Sand.. I have GAD too... 2 doc's told me. Said I had a mild case of it...
The best thing for me is the klonopin. There's times I am ok, and don't take it. When I'm "ramped up" - I do. One doc put me on it for sleep at one point when it got really bad - it was killing 2 birds with one stone - enough to put me to sleep AND stay in my system the next day as well. It worked like a dream...
Just tossin' it out there - everyone is different. But it really worked for me....

Valium 10 MG (I believe that is highest dose) x3 a day (I only take twice- it zonks me)
Zoloft 100MG x1 a day.
Tarazadone 100 MG x1 at bedtime. Works nice and I get good sleep from it.

interesting.......I'm detoxed now 9 days and have JUST recently been prescribed this.
I think I got it too late to do anything for me.....been taking two days now but plan to stop.
My question: What does this stuff do? Like how does it help.....I take it once a night with some TARAZADONE and some VALIUM and I wake up feeling a bit weird but fine.
Anyone know how this stuff works and what one should expect from it?

Beach explained it to me before.. I'm afraid I will slaughter in translation. It's generally used the 1st 10 days of w/d's tho, so if I were you I might nix it - ? I don't know.. that said, it might also be helping me sleep, as i slept like 9 hours last night... but since you have the other stuff, maybe you don't need it... I am also feeling tired, but i don't know if it's the Clonidine or the fact I'm on Day 2...

And fyi - I personally can't take Trazadone - it weirds me out really, really bad.

r2r - my guess is the .01 and .1 are likely the same.. i saw this whole thing at my doc's office how that sh** get's messed up - how they write the mil.'s differently alot, when they mean the same thing.

yeah, you get it from your doc. i was lucky enough to have a friend who's doc just gave her a script, but then she decided to go on Sub.

all i can tell you is it's day 2 and i just went for a walk. can you imagine?

Yes, some docs will write scripts over the phone for it if you tell them why. The usual dosage is 1-.1mg tab 2-3 times a day.
How do you get clonodine? I have written a few times about my hubby. Well he has two vics left and then he is OUT!! He has taken 15-20 a day. He thinks hes gonna be fine...lol. Can I just call a doctor and let them know whats going on and ask for it? Thanks for any help!! And congrats on your success!!
