I am 60 years old. My doctor had me on methadone for almost 8 years.

When he wouldn't keep up with me for a safe tapering I kept asking for I decided to start caring about myself.  He had me at 160mg a day, the last year I took myself down to 120mg then when I really got impatient so with in one week I took myself down to 80 mg for 2 days then 50mg for 2 days and finally 25mg for 2 days.  After that I checked into a detox that went kind of smoothly however instead of aftercare I had to come home to care for my elderly mother.  I'm having a huge problem with my body bouncing back.  I was used to be very active and able to do heavy lifting.  Now I can barely walk.  I get exhausted and started to have panic attacks then not being able to catch my breath.  Can someone please help me?
