OPTIONS

OK my DR. gave me some options,I told him I'd let him know, wanted to check with you guys first.Option 1.)Methadone and something for breakthrough pain.2.) an increase to the 100 mg MS Contins and Vicodin ES or vicoprofen.3.)Was something you put somewhere that I just won't due,not even if you get me drunk first. He didn't think the patch was a good idea because of the children and I guess you have to fight with my particular insurance pretty hard to get them to pay for it.He was pretty convinced that with my condition I would be miserable decreasing medication. He did give me some extra meds and wants me to take at bedtime to see if the panic attacks are withdrawl related,so I guess at least I'll answer that question.Well what do you all think?

I have an acquaintance a good bit older than you (60) who takes Methadone and it does a good job for him...He will be on it the rest of his life.  He has tried literally "everything, oxycontin, MSContin, and more, and the Meth is the best relief he has gotten.  That said, yes it is addicting but personally I would rather have a physical addiction to a med that stops my pain than to be in so much pain that I wish I was dead.  FLaddict makes a good point...

Hey those two kids in your screen name pic are adorable.  I have two kids (older kids) and its easier to be on a level keep for them, when I am not in pain.

I personally after reading your story and knowing you will probably always need to be on something would go the longer acting route... so I despite what i would normally tell people vote for option one

the only thing i WOULD DEFINATELY do, is to stay away from the methadone...it is the hardest drug to kick...that i am aware of...and i just went throught a transition from the meth to the sub and it was just plain horrible that way also...
