DAY 1 NO HYDROS!

As all of you know...today is my day one. I got the stuff from the Thomas Recipe and chicken noodle soup (bunches) as well as some Gatorade. I enjoyed Sunday. Mowed the lawn at the lake. Didn't sleep much last night (I had my last pill earlier in the day before work) but the Naproxyn Sodium really did help with the achyness and jitters I have been having from the knees down. Of course, I expect tonight to be worse. But so far today I've kept busy and not worried. As y'all know I am staying at my family's lake house. There is something restorative about water, and this morning watching the fish jump in the river, and the cranes and small birds was nice. I will also have the luxury on not worrying anyone if I am up all night putzing around and I can go outside at night without anyone thinking I am wierd. We have one neighbor, Sheri, and I told her what I was doing and asked her to check on me if she did not see me out. No matter how bad I feel, unless I am on the toilet I am going to stay busy. It really helped the first time. Pray that this is my last! I expect to hunker down for the next couple of days so if you don't hear much don't worry. I will check in later in the week! Peace to all and thanks for the support. -Randy

Randy!  Good for you - I'll be watching for you this week.  My hydro withdrawal was nasty but short.  Kept telling myself I had the flu and just had to endure it.  Lots of hot showers helped me.  I was so weak I'd lay a towel down and just curl up and let the water hit me - this literally saved me.  Baths were too intense for me during those first few days.

Take your immodium aggressively - 1 every time you hit the toilet at first to get it under control - even it that means 5 times.  I didn't manage this well in the beginning and that was a big mistake.

Sounds like you have a plan, have your supplies and you are ready to do this.  We'll be here for support so post often!  This board totally got me through withdrawal!

Much support to you!

Good luck on your journey.  I will say prayers for success for you.  You are determined; I expect you will succeed.  Nothing as wonderful as being near nature.  I agree that being near water is restorative.  God bless.

Good luck, Randy! I enjoy the water too. I live in the suburbs but am lucky enough to be by the woods and have two gurgling water features. This will be a great time for you to connect with God and nature and just rejuvenate. Best of luck and peace, blessings, and prayers to you,

Minn
