I dont mean to be a bother but you guys have been really helpful so far.  I have only taken 2 pain pills today since i am weening off of them. about an hour and a half ago i started getting these god awful pains in my lower back. I have dealt with alot of the w/ds symptoms but this is new and it really hurts. i have not had any pain meds since 930am this morning and i really am trying to not take anymore today but it is getting REALLY hard!

thank you for anything you can tell me to help

Thank you, I will tell you that was hard mainly becasue the pain is REALLY bad but i cant go back only forward.  At a loss right now thoe i called my psyciatrist to get my anti-depresant meds filled and she said i have to pay the deductable and then come in and she will re-evaluate to make sure they are still effective and doesnt need to change dosage.  VERY aggrivated that i now am coming off pain pills and my depression meds not quite sure how well that is going to work. but i am stronger now than before and i have you guys to keep me motivated and most importantly i have my kids and my husband.

Thank you again!

well i went to the doc and wanted to share.  they said extream lower back pain is not typically a w/d generally a w/d isnt just in a specific spot its pretty much everywhere.  So YEA ME, i have a double kidney infection thus is why my lower back was hurting so bad.  thought i would let yall know since you were so helpful.  DOWNSIDE. they tried to prescribe me some hydro for the pain and i told them no and had to explain again why.  I NEVER thought i would be strong enough to turn them down but i did and i feel validated for it.

thanks again you guys are AWESOME

Since you just had surgery a couple of weeks ago, i would call the dr, and ask if this new pain could be related to the surgery, just to be on the safe side.  of course you don't want pain meds, but if it is your kidneys or maybe stitches ripped loose from throwing up.......  just a good idea to check it out.

Im sorry that you are hurting , My back was hurting earlier and this is what I did for what its worth ,,

Put a heating pad on it , and got into a hot tub after about 15 mins, You cal also do Ice and take some advil to see if that helps before you do the stronger meds, Youare doing great with not taking them and I know that you are trying so hard not to . hot tubs really help with all the hurts . Im only on my first day so I cant give to much advice cause im new to this also but I have found that just having someone to talk tohelps with the hurts and things to so if you want to talk im here day or night

I didnt say to ask the doctor for a different kind of pill like that...i am only 21 but i know alot about drugs and there side effects and arent you addicted?? Thats why i said it sounds like an excuse i wasent being rude or anything im an addictive person trying to give some advise to another addictive person from my experience that is all I have been to many treatment centers and have learned ALOT about drugs...i have done oxycotin as well so no of course you dont want to take that because its just as addictive most likely  worse...by the way in the end people usually dont take the pills because of the "pain"  thats what I learned anyway...i just thought id give alittle back because i got so much encouraging advice..you may want to talk to a pain specialist if you have not already...there are doctors out there that will help and there are some that dont give a **** but i wouldnt say they are all like that...best of luck

I can assure you if i was looking for an excuse to take the pain pills i would of already taken them they are sitting beside me in my purse but I have not taken them. You may of not taken pills for pain but that is what i am taking them for.  when i asked for alternative pain meds the doctor said she could put me on oxycotin that was a big NEGATIVE the point is to get off them not onto harder ones.

i just wanted to say it sounds like your looking for an excuse to use and the only reason why im saying that is because i use to tell my grandma ohhh my hip hurts even though in my case i never took the pills because of pain but she abuses them as well and her excuse is because of her pain so i knew i could get T3's from her by telling her i was in pain...even if you starrted taking pills in the first place because of pain in the end your pain gets worse but im sure you know that...i know that tapering off of them can help some people but in my case no way...when i have them i take them to get the high and thats it. But if im wrong about you looking for an excuse then i apologize but i have been suffering from my addiction to tylenol 1's for 2 years (taking them everyday) and before that i was addicted to tylenol 3's (i would take 90 pills in 2 days) and every other drug u can think of pretty much i quit taking tylenol 1's about 17-18 days ago but relapsed abour 4-5 times i know it suxs but like everyone keeps telling me it will get better but try not to give in. The way i do it is just dont take any at all and if i have a head ache i take advil liquid gels but everyone is different so keep ur head up.

Destiny- definitely UP your fluid intake...getting dehydrated will make alot more problems for you. Water or gatorade is best. Back pain is a very common WD symptom and it sucks

I would try what Brian mentioned or even if you can go soak in a hot bath! That helped me and was also relaxing. Good Luck and hope you feel better soon.

I would definitely try something before your regular pain meds. Like Brian said ice or heat, maybe ibuprophen.

Good luck!

Our minds will trick us in to thinking we are in pain. More than likely it is part of the withdrawal symptoms. Try some ice or heat on your lower back and see if that helps. Hang in there! You will make it through this!
