Glad to hear youve decided to get off the opanas. How much were you taking daily? Have you ever gone through withdrawal before? You may want to try and start work in a few days rather than tomorrow because your going to be really sick tomorrow. It is very hard to come off opana coldturkey and its going to be pretty bad for the first 5 days. Have you talked to your doctor about stopping your meds? He/she may be able to give you some clonodine to help ease the wd or maybe a benzo and sleep aid. I would talk to them asap and try to get tomorrow off you could always tell them your really sick. I know that seeing its your first day its not going to look good but neither is going in there sweating, pale white, and with anxiety off this planet. This prob. wasnt the best time to quit coldturkey but its over and done now so u should make the best of it. Good luck
Like Addicted2long said, it's going to be tough going to work tomorrow. If you start the day with a strong mindset and push through, you will be okay. Will it be easy? No but it is completely doable. You just have to go into each day with a mind over matter attitude. If anyone asks anything, just blame it on the flu bug.
Clonodine will help. It is a prescription medication normally prescribed for high blood pressure. It is often prescribed for withdrawals.
Make sure you stay hydrated, eat healthy and exercise. Exercise makes a world of difference. You should also check into the Amino Acid Protocol. It's just a list of vitamins and supplements that aid in withdrawals. It can be found in the health pages which is located at the bottom right hand side of the screen. I found it to be very helpful.
Just stay mentally strong. You can and will make it through this if you want it bad enough. Be sure to stick around the forum for advice and support.
Best of luck to you!
Brian
I am tapering on Opana ER. It is such a tough drug to get off of.
I agree it would be great to have more time off. What is your dose now-- is your Opana ER or IR???
