thinking about trying suboxone

I am planning on trying the suboxone way to get off of my addiction to percocet and morphine.  it will be well controlled by my dr. and he thinks it will be the best way for me but left it totally in my court to decide. it will be covered by L&I., so i don't have to worry about expence.  i don't want to hear from people who have heresay opinions, i want to hear from people who have gone through it.  i still have time to back out or i could try to get an earlier appt and do it sooner.  i just want to know if this is right for me so i need to hear from those who have been through it.  thanks a lot,  lucy

Lucy I have Been reading ab suboxone all day  and what I learned is that it's helped people and more than once I have heard it been called a "miracle drug" but after some reading, not everyone seems to think so. I think it works awesome but it's only my first day on it. But some of the comments ab it have me thinking that I need to be very careful with it and only use as much as I need, bc I don't want to end up with another addiction! It's great that you have such a good doctor and the help that you do. Only you know the best route for you to take, but there is a lot of info here that helps with your decision. Good luck again.

I am on suboxone. I was/am hooked very bad of hydrocodone, was taking up to 25 a day, every single day. I started suboxone today and I felt normal ( except for thinking about the "high" every minute. Except for that I am feeling great compared to the feeling I had without it. I will continue posting my thoughts and feelings and hope they give you some help. Best of luck to you.

I had a terrible opiate problem, shooting up anything I could get my hands on. I have been on Suboxone over 2 years. I started at 16mg, and have weaned down with my doctor's approval, to only 2mg per day. Eventually, I will be completely off it, as my urge to continue in that lifestyle is gone. It is a wonderful drug, if it is used as it's supposed to be. It stops your cravings, and if you do use, you don't feel the high, making it pointless. It doesn't make me feel any different, and I can work and do everything normal. If your intention is to continue to try and get high, don't bother. You do have to get the mindset to stop, and have a support system. This drug saved my life, my marriage, and my career. Best of luck to you.
