I'm scared

Hi,
First of all, I’m not addict to anything, but I used to use cocaine thrice a week. Recently one of my friends lost his life because of this habit, he was addicted to it and dead from an overdose before my eyes. This made me scared. I need to quit it ASAP. Am I able to quit it by myself? Or Do I to join in any rehab centers for it? My mom is advising me to join in Edgewood, an addiction treatment center in Toronto. Since it is expensive, I’m confused, but I wonder whether I could handle the withdrawal symptoms. Any advice would be appreciable.

Actually, Once I tried to quit this habit.. but the withdrawal symptoms... I really don't need to quit it but I'm aware of it's after effects. That's why I'm thinking of a rehab. And yeah coke is the only thing that I'm using.

Sooooo, perhaps what your trying to say is you DEFINATLY need to quit it....but your not sure you can handle the mental w/d symptoms that happen?  There shouldn't be too much with the physical using 2x's a week?  Perhaps you should put down the coke and check out an N/A meeting?

if your not addicted to anything why do you need rehab? and if you only partied twice a week out of habit you should be able to quit but your friend was doing how much?? sorry for your loss but fill us in on the missing parts here ..

Is coke the only thing you are using?  Usually with that it is more mental than anything.

Out of curiosity....have you ever tried to quit on your own before?  If your just looking to get off of it, perhaps just detox is needed, b/c your first statement was "your not addicted to anything"......????  Are you addicted to it or can you just put it down and walk away?
