This is my second question of the day and i am a new member. I am so excited to know that i am not alone on this miserable journey! within my 7 days without suboxone i have lost 9 pounds and i have 0 appetite! I read something about amino acids helping through withdrawals? Can anyone help? I just want to feel human again. Thank you,Shelbert.

Wow!!!!  Congratulations on making it 7 days -- great news.  I can really appreciate what you are doing and where you are in the process.  Coming off of Sub was very difficult for me and I was only on it for 21 days ----- Started at 2 mg and tapered to only a crumb - thought I would bypass the W/D process but learned it was even worse with Sub.  Anyway, the good news is that after the physical W/D's I began to gradually improve -- not really noticeable at first but slowly --- then I noticed that the 'fog' was gone and the symptoms were not as severe - then I began to have things I had forgotten I had even lost -- emotions - real ones --- pleasure like I had forgotten was possible (every area of my life) -  stamina -- energy, although this was the longest in coming back.  I am now trying to make up for all of the lost time with my family and do things with my children I had neglected for so long.  Shelbert --- Please stay strong and go through whatever comes -- - it is so worth it.  Also please keep posting  -- many on this site can benefit from your experience and it will do you good to share it with others.  I will be watching your posts with interest ----- Please share your own experience with Sub no matter if it is good or bad (as mine was).  All the best.   Ochealed  (formerly Ochooked)

Hi.  glad to hear you made it 7 days.  i've heard Sub wds are long, like methadone, which i just came off .  interesting that i lost weight in the beginning too, but then when my appetite di come back i was hungry all the time!  my hubby said he experienced the same from heroin detox, he just couldn't seem to get enough to eat!  so, for better or worse, you most likely will gain it back.

love and light,
Kova

hi shelbert, welcome to the forum..you will find the amino protocol and the thomas recipe in the health pages on the right of this page...they both help alot with this process.  also get some ecercise, even if it is just walking slowly at first...it helps to get the brain producing endorphins...you are on your way so hang in there!!
