Hello Med help friends....day 2192, a day of reflection... It s been another year of freedom.   I came here in 2008 desperate for help getting off opiates.  The support I received was overwhelming.   Total strangers felt like my best friends...I ll never forget it and I am forever grateful.   It s amazing how slow the first few days/weeks go and then the years fly by.   I am so very happy today in my life....2 jobs, good family and friends, 2 beautiful little grandkids but most of all I m not chasing any thing...no worries about pills.  That is true happiness.  Hang in there everyone...the best is about to come.  Have faith in yourselves, pray, cut out your contacts and remember  it takes time to feel good/normal again.  You just can t give up even in the darkest hours.   I wish everyone love, joy and celebration.  Thank you so much for helping me reach this goal.  God bless us all...onward to year 7  MM

Thank you so much for your kind words...I believe I was brought to this website for a reason....to receive help and to give some away.   If you really want sobriety it can be yours....tell yourself from day 1...I m going to do this and keep believing you will....hours turn into days, days turn into weeks...weeks turn into months and months turn into years very quickly.  I planned my detox on a 2 week vacation in bed.  All I wanted was normalcy without medication...it s hard, discouraging and easy to give up especially on those really bad days.  I kept telling myself a pill will not help...only mask.  Sleep never came for a month and I didn t feel good for about 4 months,  being almost a 4 year abuser.   Finally life seemed to fall in place and the happiness of not needing 10 pills a day was such a blessing.  
Sara...you are a wonderful person and I m so glad to have struggled with you...thank you again for helping myself and many others.   You rock.  
I must give credit where credit is due and that s to all of you.  
Always have a plan and a plan B and never let your guard down...ever.  Thanks again from the bottom of my heart.  Love and much respect always :)

Maria, i am SO SO PROUD of you!!  I think about you often and it always brings a smile to my face.  We shared the love of our grandbabies and our beagles.  We were able to do that as we took our addiction seriously and we were willing to do whatever it took to get better.  We were a tough bunch back in the day!!!  The poor mods had their hands full with all of us and the social side!!  lol  I miss seeing you around here but i am so happy you are living now.

Congrats on 6 fantastic years!!  You worked hard for this my friend~
