Just a thought or two...

I've been reading lots of posts. I don't comment a lot, it seems that someone else has already given the same advice that I would, so I hate to be the "repeater". But what I do want to put out here is that lots of the questions and posts I see are the same as I posted early in my detox and recovery. And that makes me have hope for these people. It makes me realize that most of us go through the same things, no matter what our DOC is. Wondering how long it will last, wondering why, after so many days we are suddenly feeling something we hadn't felt before, if we have set ourselves back by taking something that was for a legitimate need... There's a pattern here...all these feelings..all these repeated questions...and emotions. And there's also another pattern here...PEOPLE GETTING CLEAN!  Whether you think it now or not, if you are reading this, you have come to the right place. We have a history here...of compassionate, caring, concerned, determined, and loving people who help other people going through the same things we did because we want others to be able to feel as free as we do. I thank God every day for finding this place. I wouldn't be where I am today had I not stumbled across it. If you have come here recently, please just follow this one piece of advice...just hang tight...don't give up and keep pushing through and fighting for the freedom you deserve. We all deserve it, but you have to earn it. As the old saying goes..."nothing worth having comes free".

Awwww my precious sweetness!!! You are truly a rock star my girl.  You have been through so much it's been a pleasure watching all that God has done in and through your life.   You have over a year clean and you are living your life.   Crazy and busy as it is.  Taking the bull by the horns and rolling w it.  I know it was a hard journey but you are doing this.   I'm so very proud of you and blessed to call you my friend!!!!  Love you always Chris

I agree! This website has literally saved my life. Even though I made the choice to stop before I saw this site, I know I would have failed if it wasn't for EVERYONE on here encouraging me and giving me so much hope! I was told the truth no one sugar coated it and I'm so thankful for this site. It truly saved my life. I can't begin to explain my gratitude.

Nonights, everyone is different in how we handle things. And you're right, as long as we stay clean is what matters most. And I agree jugglin...it was definitely a lifesaver for me. :)

Am in same boat with meetings. But I want to be able to stay clean. I feel like I've learned so much just being here. As long as we continue to grow and not use that's what matters.

Yes it does Jimmy! I know deep in my heart that I wouldn't have gotten through it all w/o everyone here. I had a great support system, but I just couldn't do aftercare and meetings. It was just too hard for me, so THIS was my aftercare. I spent hours here..everyday, forever it seemed like. And all of a sudden my life popped back up, and I had this n that to take care of, and I had to be here n there n everywhere! Things I didn't worry much about before suddenly became top priority, as they should've been the whole time, but the methadone just kinda made me put everything on the back burner. I really just can't say it enough, but this place is a godsend. :):)

Well said ! I agree ! It seems sometimes I get to a post and there is just nothing I can add that hadn't been said but I think that's a good thing that we have so many members to offer their support . Medhelp rocks !!!!
