does anyone still deal with fioricet addiction??

I just started fioricet 2 wks ago.and am trying to wean off with the last six pills I have left, my doctor will not give me anymore, or any phenobarbital, just imitrex. I am super scared because I have done CT a few times, but not at home, in a facility, anyway It is pure Hell..The headache I had last time 24 hrs after my last pill, I literally thought I was gonna die!! I take blood presure medicine but it is controlled, I just know it will spike up vey high during the withdrawal process. Just wondered if anyone was on these for 2 wks only and what you did? and how many where you on?..most appreciative..D

Hi Robin, thanks for your post, I no longer am on those, I have had a history of addiction too these in the past up to 20 pills a day the highest, these doctors don't take it seriously knowing it's the barbiturate that can cause dangerous withdrawals, funny they prescribe them but don't realize the danger of addiction and the withdrawals....but thank you much!

Be careful with fiorcet.   It contains barbituates...its an old drug that isn't much prescribed anymore.   Barbituates were the "sleeping pill" of the 1950's.    In fact, it was Nembutal that killed Marilyn Monroe.

They are nothing to fool around with...good luck you hon.

Hello Vicki, I'm ok now..I did experience elevated blood pressure and anxiety. the ER doc thought it was not possible after a short time (2 weeks)..It was..she prescribed me 12 to wean off of..I did not fill it cause by that time the worst was over, however, I knew my monthly was coming and got it filed 10 days later. So I have taken 12 in the past 3 days : /..as long as there's no WD"s from 3 days of use..I am done with these, been in facilities in the past to come off these evil drugs!..Thank you for your concern!!
