Week One on Suboxone

I was taking 20-40 10 mg norcos daily for two years.  I have been on suboxone for one week now, and I am feeling really good.  I'm hoping to be off the suboxone in less than 3 weeks too!  If anyone has any concerns or questions about it, I will be glad to fill anyone in on my experiences with taking it.

It will be nice to be able to help someone else if I can, and I see SO many strong people on this site.  Plus, I could really use support too!  The suboxone only covers the physical part.  The mental part, I must be forced to deal with myself!

Thank you!

Nope, NO CRAVINGS!  But, as I always say, out of site out of mind!  You can't stay clean, no matter what your on, if you are around it, are around anyone who takes it, or have any access to it.  You have to be ready to TOTALLY cut ALL ties with your addiction, or you are not going to stay clean, even on the suboxone.

It IS a miracle drug for me, but it is not the ONLY miracle.  MY decision, and willingness to say good bye to hydrocodone, was THE miracle!  The suboxone just helped me along the path, get to my destination.
I'm still walking down that path, but I can see my destination clearly, and now, for the first time in my life, it is within arms reach!

Hey there! I am on day 5 of suboxone and I feel great too! I cannot even believe how fortunate I am!! You are right about the mental apsect. I don't even think about taking a percocet until it gets to be the end of work or when I am running errands. I always popped a few at those specific times. I plan on staying on for 6 months to a year just for that exact reason. I want to get out of the habit of "thinking" I need a perc to function or get things done.

Hey looks like we joined the club at the same time so I guess that makes us subox-buds. I wish you the best and I'm looking forwarding to bumping in to each other and hearing about your progress...

take care,

leelee

GREAT!!!  I can't wait!  It is really nice to know someone else who is going through the same thing as I.  I haven't found many people who can relate to me, but most are very supportive.

The people here amaze me completely.  Those who are going cold turkey, make me feel silly sometimes, and I can't wait for the day, which will be soon, when I am PILL FREE also!!!!!!!!

I am tapering.. i feel the same way sometimes.. silly that I don't have the balls to just suck it up and go through it.. but with work and planning my wedding in 7 weeks taking the time off would be impoosible. I have been successful tapering.. if I had the extra cash I would have gone on SUB but.. no insurance and finances are tight..
