Help for a long time addict!

I have been lingering for awhile now. It has been very lonely where I am and little hope to stay clean. I am a narcotic/opiate addict sense 2003. No matter what I do I can not seem to stop using. My time however has ran out and it seems I must face withdrawl and detox on my own. I finally found an addict specialist to turn too. My question is what worked for other people and what about suboxone has it worked for other people?

Hi and welcome to the forum. U can read many of our stories as many of us have taken different journeys to get sober. I was a norco abuser and stopped CT( cold turkey). If u have help to taper then u must use a good plan and stick to the plan. Taper can be hard but it is done.  U need to really want this. U have taken the right steps. You're here and talking.  The fact is you're going to go through WD either way. Sometimes tapering just delays it... But it can be done. It's really important that u make ur plan and stick with it ok!!!  If u look down on the bottom right of the page u will find the Thomas recipe to help with ur WD symptoms.  And like I said just read our stories here. They too will help. :)

Also I want to note that this is not my first time detoxing. This is about my fifth time over since 2003. The last time was in December I detoxed over Xmas and it was horrific. I was taking way to much can not even tell you because I was so messed up the high was never enough. Some days I made myself stay awake because I was scared I would not wake back up if I had fallen asleep. I have little support and already have put my husband threw so much with this I want out. Please help me!! I am so scared I do not want to feel the pain it is to much to bare but i know its the only way. I am sliding over the edge into insanity because I am beating my head over and over doing the same thing that never changes in the end.
