hi....well as for a time line it is different for everybody it is not so much the severity of methadone withdrawal but rather the long recovery time that make this drug hard to beat......the physical withdrawal last about 2 weeks then you get hit with the ''energy crash'' you lucky you where only on it a short wile the formula we use is how long/ how much/and your age will all factor in....keep posting for support get up to walmart and pick up some imodium for the runs sleep is elusive coming off this drug you just have to get by on cat naps for a wile...I have said this a million times in this forum but ''you just got to be ok without being ok a wile'' this to shale pass keep posting for support where hear for you

Can you not get into to at least a "walk in" clinic (or quick care I guess is what you called it, eh?) and have your vitals checked? I wouldn't take another person's meds myself. The clinic would be able to give you some meds should you need them during your detox.
Just a basic check up and have your vitals checked....and maybe some routine bloodwork would make you feel a lot better.
An increase in b/p is "common" in some people. I was just the opposite though...my was REALLY low. Your pulse is high, too.
Day 2 is good.....sleep when you can....and please think about having a clinic at least check your vitals, ok?
No, I haven't been to a doctor since i went to the methadone clinic. I would go to a quick care clinic if i needed antibiotics or what have you. No primary care physician, since i was a kid. not currently prescribed ANY medication as i don't have a doctor currently. These are my roommates meds, she takes them for anxiety mostly. she saw i wasn't feeling well and offered them to me, but I'm not a doctor and she not really aware what I'm going thru. but i would like some relief and i do check my blood pressure twice daily, and seem i might be dealing with hypertension. let me know what you think, thanks.
Congratulations on your 2nd day clean : )
Hey welcome, man! We're all here, and that helps! Just knowing it's not just you, ******* helps! you're doing great! You are officially a warrior!
Are you suppose to be taking your b/p medication and you aren't? And the Buspar?
If it is prescribed to you by your dr, I'm not real clear on if you are taking these meds? Most definitely if your b/p med (propranalol) is prescribed for your high b/p, seems like you should be taking it.
I was on gabapentin during my w/drawals...and didn't know that it was helping me, but in hindsight...I think it was.
If you dr has prescribed your b/p med, the Buspar and the gapapentin....I would be taking them "as prescribed" by your dr.
They will definitely help you....do what your dr recommends....ok?
I took my blood pressure today also and had 170/149 P139, pretty high right? is it just my opiate withdrawals or should I be concerned? I have some Propranolol(anxiety/hypertension) and Buspar(anxiety) witch is kinda like a non-benzo Xanax. Is it a bad idea to use these to help? I also have Gabapentin(Neurontin) could this help me also? so far I've got the most relief from OTC Imodium, But still can't sleep, I have some Seraquil but last time I used it, it made me real restless. Any suggestions for sleep aid?
- I will also check out the literature on methadone withdrawals, and I'm trying some things from the Thomas recipe. thanks again.

Hi and welcome to the forum, your in the right place for support!
Well done on everything so far, truly! You've picked a rough detox but you already know this so completely surrender yourself to the process and stay focused, eye's on the prize!
I agree with Clean above, try setting little goals for yourself. Keep well hydrated and try your very best to push yourself to exercise, I know its real hard but it can pull you through the worst faster. You've already set yourself up for success with everything you've done, be proud of that!!!
Wish you nothing but the best my friend, you got this!
You are young and weren't on methadone that long....by tapering that should have helped you, but of course, will not eliminate w/drawals. Because the dones are totally synthetic....they can take awhile to totally leave your system. Set some small goals....7 days....14...then 21 days.
Staying in "the day" we are living is hard....but helps us a LOT.
Have you read our re-posted Thomas Recipe (no benzos) for some things that can help you during detox? Also, in the Health Pages at the bottom of this page are some articles about methadone that you might want to read.
Most importantly....stay hydrated, drink a protein drink of some sort, a hot pad is good, Hyland's restless legs (at Walmart or Walgreens, etc ) may help......Emergen-C is a great way to get liquid availabilty of vitamins, much needed minerals and electrolytes.
Keep posting....we have many on this forum successfully off the dones.
