Good luck,

subutex is straight buprennorphine, suboxone is burpenorphine/nalaoxone 8mgs/2mgs. The difference is that suboxone has naloxone which inhibits you from using other opiates while on it where as subutex is straight buprenorphine. Having a lot of subutex in your system should stop you frrom feeling many effects from opiates, but the naloxone is a sure fire way. subutex is generally used in the very first stages of treatment.

i am trying to get off of norco.have you herd of subutex
Thanks so much...my dog wants to come in and hubby wants me in the bed!
Y'all take care and know that I am praying for everyone.
Well there are alot of options. I used to work in a inpatient facility so I can give you that experience as well. I was almost 6 years clean from heroin when I took pills after surgery.
Ok then... if you go to a doc... and do something outpatient like Suboxone. It is a narcotic. however it is part blocker so it has a ceiling affect and does not get you high. It is perfect for a short term taper of less then 21 days.. some docs use it longer however I read everywhere that people on it longer end up having WD symptoms from it. Only certified docs can prescribe it.. go to suboxone.com for more info
Another option is clonidine. it is a blood pressure med that helps ALOT with WD symptoms.. does not take them all away but helps alot.. perfect for a at home detox or with Suboxone.. Immodium is very helpful as well.. and not just for ridding of the runs.. since its active ingredient is derived from opiates it helps take the edge off as well.
In a facility, they use either methodone, suboxone, and some use Darvon to taper. In a rehab they use multiple meds... muscle relaxants, nausea meds like phergan, sleep meds like ambian, lunesta, trazodone.etc. pretty much if they are a medical detox they have something for every symptom..
I detoxed off a 2 and half year hydro/oxy habit with Suboxone at home. I took it for 10 days taking less and less each day. i also took clonidine, lunesta, and phergan. After stopping I had maybe 24 hours of sweating and chills but even that was not that bad.. seemed bad at the time but it could have been full blown CT... I just took clonidine and immodium and was fine.. its been over a week since I have been off.. feeling good.
As far as giving you the "feeling" of norco. Suboxone makes you feel normal.. a bit of energy.. at high doses it almost gives you too much.. I slept fine. Out of all the options methodone is the one i would stay away from... taking that to detox from Norco is like killing a mouse with a elephant gun... and the odds of getting hooked on it are too high of a chance.
Any other ?? just ask..
Welcome you are on your way...
All of the above..LOL. I guess it is good to laugh. I just watched intervention and that was the most touching one I have ever seen. My prayers are with that woman and her family...Mouthwash? I never would have thought..
What are the most common drugs used for detox?
Can I become addicted to those drugs?
Do those drugs give me the same feeling as Norco. i.e., energy, confidence...
How long will I take those drugs?
I want to get help, this is the first time I have reached out to anyone in regards to this. I am going to seek professional help because my first day of forced detox was a nightmare. I can't take a chance on my employer finding out. I have a co-worker who is out right now for an addiction, one more might be too much for my boss to handle! LOL
Thanks for your help and I look forward to your reply.
Elaborate on the question.. do you mean drugs they use while you are in detox?? Or drugs doc will prescribe for outpatient use?? Or do you mean like methodone or Suboxone?? I can answer all of those just didn't know exactly what you were asking..
