Methadone Withdrawl

I have been on methadone for 1 year after being on Perks and Oxys after a really serious surgery. My doc put me on methadone and I hate it. I was taking 95mg of liquid a day and stopped out of frustration of being a slave to this ****...I just want to know how safe it is to do this at home without meds? It has been 4 days, still feeling syptoms, I'm 25 yrs female. Any suggestions?

I hate that people go from oxy or hydro to the "done", and high sweaty, constipating doses at that. It's the docs that do it because they are lazy or don't care. Using methadone for pills is like trying to put out a fire with gas. It's overkill! There is hope after methadone and the most important thing is not the dose, it's the amount of time. You said 1 year and that's very doable. all the best

Wow, that is quiet a step.  Are you aware of what is in store.  I do not want to try to be nagative, I just want you to be prepared.  Have you been doing some research regarding detoxing.withdrawing from methadone.  It is possibly the hardest drug to come off of.  
You can do at, and yes you can do it at home.  Not without pain and discomfort.  Could you taper and come off slower?  If not, do not get scared, just accept this is meant ot be for whatever reason and do your best.

Tomorrow is my last day at the clinic....down from 110mg.in Aug.'07, tomorrow I will dose @7mg, and go ct from there.  Some feel that is too drastic.

You are really jumping off at 95mgs? That,s a high dose to come off of, & at such a high dose you may not really begin to feel the wrath of withdrawal for another two days, so if you do start to feel really bad, I,d recomend that you start a slow taper, then go cold turkey, as it is quite dangerous for your health, theirs nothing wrong with nor is their any shame in going back onto the methadone for a bit longer, as you must do whats best for your body & mind. Im at 4mgs, & it has taken me almost one year to get to 4mgs, but looking back, I think Im doing the right thing for me & my family. I once felt just like you, I wanted off this junk fast, I didnt want to wait almost one solid year, but looking back patient behavior & courage plays a huge role in the success of methadone withdrawal & relapse prevention.
