Everyone is different. I had several surgeries following an awful accident. I was taking Oxycodone, as prescribed for four months steady after one of the most significant surgeries, then stopped without really even realizing that I'd simply stopped. After yet another surgery, I was again prescribed the pain pills and the original prescription was for only one month.... yet after that month, I was hooked and I've taken them, increasing steadily in quantity, since 2007. I am now on day 4 of withdrawals. My advice is BE CAREFUL and if you are in pain, take only the bare minimum. As soon as you can quit taking them QUIT. At some point, the nice feeling they give you will become far more important than the pain relief and then you will be in for it....
