Here is day 45!!! Yay...but I have a question...

So proud to be on my day 45! I have been here before however...I see alot of people posting about Celebrate Recovery (aftercare I'm assuming), but I can't find information on it in my town...what exactly is this and does it cost money to go to it?

Yes I did find the info, thank you. It doesn't look like there is a Celebrate Recovery around me, but I did go to church yesterday, and I even went to confession. Something that I haven't done in years. It made me feel a bit better, but just being in church made me feel happy. I cried a little bit, which was weird, but it was good. I lit a candle for myself and all of the recovering addicts that I have met on this site. I thank you all for the help. I may have found a little group within the church that isn't just for people like me, but for all addiction type things, and it sounds a little like the Celebrate Recovery. It's strange because I didn't really realize how "God" played a role in my recovery, and believed that it was mostly me and my mind that I needed to get right with, until I was in church yesterday. I'm a Catholic lol.

Congrats on 45 days! I attend Celebrate Recovery and am a group leader at my local one, so if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask! It's an absolutely free twelve step group that's Christian based. It is great for addicts, but the group is for anyone with any struggle(addiction, grief, family problems, etc.) Most groups offer free childcare during the meeting, which consists of worship and a 12-step teaching, followed by a group meeting like at AA or NA. It's not as common as AA or NA so there may not be one in your town. If this sounds like something up your alley, you can ask at local churches which often have something similar. As Cricket said, www.celebraterecovery.com lets you search for locations.

Thank you for the information.  There is a bigger town about 20 minutes from where I live, so I will look there for this. For some reason that site will not come up on my computer right now (that figures) so I will have to try from my computer when I get home. Does this program help more than like NA or AA??
I hope it will come up for you soon! lol. For me, it does help more. It's a little bit longer than an NA or AA meeting, but worth it to me. It incorporates a teaching on things like how to avoid relapse, or one of the 12 steps, etc. so I feel like I get to learn, connect with my higher power during the worship, and hear other people's experiences as well as share my own during the small group portion. The small group part is similar to AA or NA, but everything else is a bonus! It's my favorite place to be every week. I hope you have luck finding one if this is something your interested in!

Hello & Congrats!
Congrats on your hard earn days so far..Ya!

Cricketk92 gave you a good web site. You can also ask at your Church or call some around your area. I went to one back in the later 90s when I first tried to come off my hydos, but then went back to getting methadone prescribed. It is a Awesome program, but I guess I was not ready, however, it did help me stop drinking besides other things. They do the steps but have bible verses along with them. I thought about going back to them too, however, I have alot of support set up right now. You have to start when they do because it goes on for so many weeks, months, but I am sure you can get in if one is going on now.

How are you feeling these days??

I am feeling pretty good. My truck broke down, so I'm in the process of looking to get myself a new car. I am excited, because I want a new car, but not excited because I don't want the payment. Both of my vehicles are paid off...other than that, I still get worn out easy, and have low energy, but it's nothing I can't handle. I have a lot of pain in my back and from my endometriosis, and nothing seems to help it. And that *****, but life is good. How are you doing?

Hi and Congratulations on Day 45!!  That is awesome!
Celebrate Recovery is a Christian 12 step (kind of) program.  They are usually run in churches.  If you go here : http://www.celebraterecovery.com/  you will be able to search for a group near you.  I have never been to one but I looked a bit through their materials a little bit.
I am assuming that they are funded as any other 12 step program which is through member donation which is usually passing a basket around during the meeting.
Hope you find the aftercare that is right for you!  ♡
