Might have asked this b-4

Forgive me if Ive asked this before.Ive been on the same dose of Morphine (MS Contin)For like 7mos.now and I know there is a tolerance factor, but can not getting enough make you feel strange, and I don't mean sick, just weird like your dreaming.Ive felt like this for about a month along with the nighttime panic attacks.Ive had a complete physical 2 mos ago, blood work, chest x-ray,etc.It feels weird enough to scare me,It's either not enough medication or a brain tumor,I mean that's how strange it feels, like my brain is trying to catch up.It's really starting to worry me,to the point that I'm checking my pulse all the time or thinking I ODed which I know isn't possible because I always take the same amount. Is this some kind of side effect due to long term use of MS Contin?

I know the feeling that your talking about and let me assure you its the drugs.....I know your tolerance levels are higher that happens but were still talking about a pretty strong med.......
If you get you Mophine levels at a particular point your body is hammered your brain just can't grasp how much.....your brain thinks your fine but physically your body is messed up and the physical and mental part of your body (head and brain) are not on the same page........

Just watch out that you don't start thinking that the panic attacks are something you need the ms-cotin for. NOT having enough once you're addicted can bring on panic attacks very easily.

And if you are taking it for a previous condition; you're on the wrong medication. Opiates is NOT the drug to take for panic attacks.
Also, what your describing could be caused by the ms-cotin itself, regardless of getting enough or not. I used to get that *time slippage* or dream state all the time. I was a danger on the road when in it.
I remember entering that state while sitting at a red light and just hitting the gas because I "thought" the light must have changed, surely it's been long enough!

My friends would blink and say "Uh, dude...you know you just blew through that light you stopped for...?"

No,I take Ativan for the panic attacks, but I try not to take them too often.Lately It's been the strange, weird feelings all day that have me concerned, they almost bring on a panic attack.Ive  only been having the weird feelings for about a month, month 1/2,the panic attacks have been about a year and 1/2 now since I quit drinking.--beachtowel-so what should I do,switch meds, add something,or go stronger with the MS Contin. My DR. has mentioned tolerance and told me to let him know, but he never said anything about these weird feelings, just to let him no when my pain wasn't being controlled anymore.

Have you checked out the possibility of a bad mix between ativan and ms-cotin? I don't know alot about ativan (valium?) but I think that could be causing it. I've taken benzo's and I THINK prolonged usage can cause this...but I'm far from an expert, let alone a layman on it. (I'm not talking about the panic attacks, talking about the weird feeling).

Keep in mind that med's for depression/panic attacks were originally meant for short term use, to "get you through" while you did therapy. None of them will work well if taken long term.

What are you taking the ms-cotin for?

I only take the Ativan at night and when I really need it,and I have asked about a bad mix and it's not that. The MS Contin is for back issues.
