Need help before I find more and change my mind about quitting

How long should I expect to feel the withdrawals from opioids if I've been taking them everyday? And is it more mentally or physically addictive? I don't know what it's like to feel normal anymore, and everytime I don't have any I bust my *** until I find some. Here's the kicker......this **** snuck up on me because I had a prescription for vicodin and I started abusing them. Next thing I know, I'm doing hereoin to make me feel better. I am a person who wouldn't even take a hit off of a joint about a year ago. I was EXTREMLY straight edged, and now I'm hooked to this ********. Anyone out there kick this **** cold turkey?

I was hooked on opiate pills and methadone.  It took me about a year to feel normal. The first month clean, I was not sick anymore but it took me another 11 months to feel like I was me again.
Was it hard? Yes. But so worth it.  I have my life back. I am going on    17 months now and cannot even imagine doing any drugs again.
So stick with it and all will be worth it.

i have kicked the same drugs ct
the acute wd last 3 to 6 days, after that you will experience paws, post acute wd
you can google that to find more information
i suggest you goto na, there are going to be days when you really want to use
getting clean alone is an unrealistic expectation for anyone trying to get clean

Yeah you can kick it cold turkey...  welcome to the forum.. I think you know the answer to your question... is it more mentally or physically addictive?  It is both..... You have graduated to heroin from what I'm reading and you will continue to bust your a$$ and everybody's around you until You decide to stop.... The wd are not pleasant and will test your very fiber.. But I and many others have done it this way... My question to you is.. how much more are you willing to give to the b!itch we call Heroin and her minion addiction ?? stay with us on the forum read others stories.. I wish you well.. lesa

I don't know I was addicted to crack but I can tell you that it is great you are reaching out. it is a process and the first step is to admitting that you have a problem and you are!!. Stick around cause somebody will post an answer for you that knows about pills. good job on reaching out and recovery is possible and then even enjoyable.
