I was just watching the news and they showed a shot you get once a month called Vivitrol. It's non-addictive and blocks the high if you do relapse. Right now it's being used for people addicted to pain killers and heroin.

I'm not sure about the cost, they only thing they said about it was that it's a shot you get once a month - I'm pretty interested in it, hopefully it doesn't cost over a grand.

i too have read that it is VERY expensive and insurance won't cover it. NA is free and works if you want it to. if you have the money and think you're going to relapse maybe you should do some more research on it. just my 2 cents.

IWant2BClean got that today so she will be able to keep us informed of how it works for her...I cannot help but to be somewhat distrustful - but I am trying to be optimistic.
