Coming off suboxone

Been on suboxone for about 5 years, I been coming down off of it to make my jump, I am on .5 mg right now, I haven't been able to sleep for about 2 weeks now, it's been killing me working for the rail road being a foreman and not sleeping, last night I decided to take my .5 mg at night, and sleep like a baby, I don't know if it will help anybody else like it did me, it's worth a shot, can't hardly wait to get 1/4 mg and get off these things, just wondering if anybody has ever tried to take there sub at night and helped them sleep, or is it just where my body was ready to sleep going so long with out sleep, if I could just sleep like I did last night it would be so much easier, also been working out at nights and don't drink no caffine

Calcium, Magnesium, Zinc combo, B complex, and a multivitamin all help. An protien drink high in amino acids, like ensure or spiru-tien, helps with energy. Most addicts are malnourished in some way or another. I was taking a hand full of nutrients and my pee was clear for weeks, usually it would be flaming orange. My body soaked them up. You reminded me of how I craved water. I would walk around the block and drink a half gallon of water, I couldn't get enough. I drank 2-3 gal a day. I used Emergen-C to help with electrolytes and change the flavor. I peed constantly. I had forgotten about that. I can sit through a whole hour of class now.

I ordered the withdrawal ease about 2 weeks ago, I have never peed no much in my life, do you think I should take some other vitamins than the withdrawal ease?

You are tapering pretty fast, but as long as you hang on, that will make it over faster. Tylenol PM gave me a hangover, but it did put me to sleep for one night, which took the edge off. Have you been taking amino acids, vitamins, and minerals? That really helped me a lot. Maybe didn't stop withdrawal, but I think it helped my brain chemistry to heal faster. Everyone told me to do some exercise and I did. I would feel miserable, but it made it a little better each day. Swimming was my favorite exercise, low impact and no gravity. You are doing great. Can't wait to hear that, "Yeah, I feel great!" I'm glad to hear you say you feel the best you have since you've been on subs. That's a good sign.

Not seeing doctor no more, I had about 3 months of meds and started tappering myself, if I could just sleep at night I would be ok, been .5 for 4 days now since I talked to weaver, than about 1 more week going to 1/4 than every 2 days 1/4, than going to jump, still going to take at night, man this is best I 've felt since I been on sub, I would like to thank every body on this site, it's really helped a lot, god bless to all!!!

Sleep is by far the number 1 complaint. I didn't sleep for two weeks and then crashed as well. I couldn't find anything to help. Near 3 weeks it finally started to go away. I did as Clong mentioned. When I was at .5 mg, my withdrawal and instomnia where not going away, so I jumped. I'm not sure if tapering further would have helped or stretched out the detox. You have come a long way, you are almost there. You will not regret your decision to stop subs, give it time.

No sleep is just part of it.  There really isn't any way around it.  You have been taking subs for a long time, insomnia was my toughest symptom for sure.  I didn't get any good sleep till about day 17 or so after jumping off at 2mg.  You are to the point of 1/2 mg a day right?  How long you been there?  If you are already getting insomnia, then it sounds like you are or are very close to full withdrawl.  Might be time to jump.  But do whatever is comfortable to you.  You got a doctor or are you doing this yourself?  Ask your doc if possible.  Meletonin helped me the most with sleep.  Long hot baths and relaxing music.  People swear by the "Thomas Recipe" at the bottom right hand of this page.  Taking the sub at night may have just relieved some anxiety you had about not sleeping.  It could of just been that your body finally shut down.  We can only go so long without sleep till this happens.

Keep on fighting.
