I'm back and surgery tomorrow

Hi everyone!

I'm not sure how many of you remember me. I was on here about a month ago detoxing from Percocet. I got to about day 4 (or so) but ended up with a kidney stone stuck in my ureter that was too big to pass. So a few days later i had surgery to get it out. But apparently my ureter was too small, so they couldn't get all the way up there to get the stone. So they placed a stent to try an dilate my ureter so they would be able to get in there next time. This was 3 weeks ago.

I've been in the worst pain of my life since then. So obviously i am back on pain killers. My next surgery is tomorrow, and after i am recovered, i am  getting the heck off of these pills! I am MORE than ready!

I have been feeling very down the past few days. I'm not sure why...maybe because i am just tired of these pills. Who knows. I just hate feeling like this.

Anyways, i just wanted to update everyone and let you know that after i am recovered i will be starting all over again. Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who helped and supported me last time. Each and every one of you is a blessing. I wouldn't be able to get through this without this forum.

Angie

Wishing you a speedy recovery! I know how it feels to start a detox and then get derailed by health issues. You will make it through and come out even stronger! Keeping you in my thoughts!

Lol nooo, not at all! I truly appreciate your advice and concern :)

As of now, i am just taking a multivitamin. I need to look at the paperwork they sent me home with because there's a list of vitamins/supplements that im supposed to avoid for about 5 days. I take anti-inflammatories sometimes, like advil, but try to avoid them if i can because i have Crohn's Disease and worry about stomach bleeding, etc.

Yes, i am on the percs. As soon as im recovered and my pain is gone, ill be quitting (have i mentioned i seriously can't wait to be done with them!!?) I am going to ATTEMPT to taper, but i have had a hard time doing that in the past. So if im not able to taper, i will be going cold turkey.

It really stinks that i have a long list of painful medical issues, but i just can't wait to finally start getting my life back without these evil little things. I know its going to be hard, but i know i can do this, especially with the help of everyone on this forum :)

Man, Angie...I'm "hurtin"  just reading about this!!!  I'm glad that they successfully got that stone out.....WOW  and all that inflamation.

I do know that most peeps with kidney issues are NOT suppose to take any anti-inflammatory meds cause they are not just hard on your tummy as most people think....but REALLY a "no-no" for kidney issues.  What are they having you take now?  Still the percs?

Once this last (awful sounding) stint comes out.....can you start your taper or whatever your plan is?

And are you taking some Vit C and E and other supplements to help you right now with the healing process?  (sorry if it sounds like I'm "mothering" you....lol)

Hi, Clean-yes, i am drinking nothing but water! So sorry to hear about your hubby...that is very scary! But very glad to hear he is improving.

Just wanted to update everyone and thank you all for the prayers and well wishes. Surgery took longer than expected. My doc finally got to the stone, and it was very sharp and jagged and wedged into my ureter with a ton of swelling. But thankfully he got it. I now have another stent because of the swelling, but at least this one can come out on Tuesday. Only downfall is that this one comes all the way down to my urethra, and the string to it is taped to my leg. FUN, right?! :/

So anxious to recover from this so i can begin my journey to a pill free life. Thank you again to all of you.

Thanks for the update.  Kidney stones and now a stint?  Talk about MAJOR PAIN, girl.....wishing you a successful surgery.

We'll be here when you get that stone outta ya!  And if you aren't already, drink LOTS and LOTS of water (good water).  My hubby has had LOTS of stones and then an "out of nowhere" surprise yrs later with Stage 3 Kidney disease.  He is improving.......and drinking LOTS of distilled water!  He told both his dr's that his wife has a garden hose hooked up to his mouth. LOL
But the huge increases of water have improved his filtration numbers!!

You'll do great....and then you can continue with your journey to an opiate free life......FREEDOM RINGS!!!

Blessings to you tomorrow and beyond~

I am so sorry that you are going through this. I have had kidney stones before and know how debilitating they can be. Just awful! It is good that you have a plan set up to get off the pain meds after surgery. Just stick with it and you will get there. This was just a little bump in the road. We are here for you. Good luck!
