On Suboxone & Pregnant

Hi everyone!  This is the first time I've posted a question on here, & am hoping that some of you have experience with being on suboxone & pregnant.   I went to treatment in June for 8 years of IV heroin addiction.  While there I was put on Suboxone, mainly because I had been to treatment 17 times before & relapsed immediately,  so everybody agreed that it would be a good idea for me to get some clean time together & then ween off.  & it was the best choice I made, I have been completely drug & alcohol free since June 16, 2013.  It is the longest I've ever had, besides jail.  But I am now pregnant,  it was completely unexpected,  but am grateful I am clean.  I am on 12 mgs daily, 8 in the morning & 4 in the afternoon & am a 12 weeks & 3 days pregnant.   I am wondering what will the withdrawal be like for the baby? How long will it have to stay in the hospital? What else do I need to know or worry about?  Sorry for this being so long, figured I do an introduction & question all at once.

Hi I was on 32mg daily and pregnant. I had to stay in hospital for 1 week and give bubby lots of skin on skin contact. It was advised I kept the curtains closed to not let any light in or it would set off withdrawls for the baby. I was fortunate the doctors said the baby was very healthy and happy. He seemed to sleep better when I was awake and put him in the hospital bed beside me. But everyone is different, I only prey your experience will be similer. I was still unfortunantly using heroin till I was 8 mths pregnant and got on the subutex the last 2 mths. So if anything, you sound like you will have done much better than myself. I could of killed my baby the heroin was so strong. Your taking subutex from practically the beginning of your pregnancy and a lower dose than myself so you and your baby should be quite alright. Obviously im not a doctor and this is just my own experience. My boy is almost 2 and in perfect health. Good luck and I send you both well wishes. Well done also, very big step you have taken to put things right for your life and most importantly your little one. xx
