Opiate free but stopped up

This is gonna sound weird but i am an opiate addict and read that lopermide helps with opiate withdrawal so i used it help ease my withdrawal.  It helped and i am now on day 9 clean but now i have a new problem, i havn't had a bowel movement in 9 days! I am scared and don't know what to do.  I have used suppositories and an enema with no luck. What should i do and should i be concerned?

OMG Bama! Lmfao!

The magnesium citrate should kick in soon and hopefully bring you some relief. You will need to add more fiber in your diet as well from here on out. I know all too well how uncomfortable you are,,I had an episode a lil over 2 months ago that caused me to pass out and end up in the hospital (not implying at all that will happen to you). Probiotics also help maintain the digestive tract. I have to take a capful of Miralax a day,,If I do not have a movement I was instructed by my doctor to take several capfuls a day until I go.Hope your tummy feels better soon! Dont take anymore Immodium. ~Bkitty

If you want to poo too need to stop taking the immodium because it causes that's. Get a can of benefiber and add some to your drinks and also exfersize there is no better way to get the pipes flowing than a good workout.

Hey there...good job with the liquids. I know exactly how you feel-bloated and yucky!! Definately contact your doctor tomorrow about this. Have you started taking any oral laxatives? I think those combined with another enema will help you. Keep me posted, and stay strong!! Be proud of your clean time and guard it!

Hey ....  go to dollar general store and get a product called magnesium citrate get 2 bottles and kill both bottles.I am pretty sure that your problem will be solved by this, albeit in a violent sort of way.   If that does not work within four to five hours then I would say a trip to the doctor will be in order.good job on the 9 days.

Hi there and welcome!! Congratulations on your clean time!! The lopermide should only be used when you're having the diarrhea, and then once it startes to get "normal",you should stop using it. Also,a lot of liquids during this period as well. I would say to try another enema tonight, and possibly a stool softener (oral capsule). If nothing happens tonight or by morning,I would call the doctor. It's not good to go this long without a bowel movement!! Hope this helps, and good luck with that. Stay here and keep us posted. There's a ton of support here for you during your recovery. Stay strong and hang in there!! Best of luck!!
