Thanks to you both! I was on opiates since about June of last year. It slowly went from 1-2 a day to 8 and sometimes 10-12 a day. I would sometimes take more due to stress which was only making things worse. I just went cold turkey and it got bad! I just seen i wasnt eating on the drug and seen a picture of myself right before i started and i was in fantastic shape working out heavily everyday. Now im ashamed of my weight loss n lack of attention to my family and i knew something had to change! Thanks again for all the advice i really really appreciate it!!!

hey SRT - Teri had some great advice. The hot/cold thing is a normal part of opiate withdrawal. it will pass. how long is dependent on your daily dose and how long you used. Everyone is different.  The insomnia is also a part of the WDs. Everyone has it.  The good news? ALL of it will pass! The trick is to get through it. And that's the only way...through. I can promise you that the rewards of getting off of opiates are fantastic. Take care and keep posting.

Hi, have u looked at the Thomas recipe?  Also, there is a calcium/magnesium/zinc supplement u can get at Wal-Mart for about $5, take 4 in the morning and 4 at dinner.  This will really help with the rls, give it a couple days to get in your system.  Take lots of hot baths with epsom salt, as many a day as u need, it will help alot!  I know u probably don't feel like it, but exercise is key, even if u just walk around the block at first, it helps to get your brain producing dopa-mines, which is what it stops making when u take opiates.  Walking will also help with the restless legs. Drink lots of water, staying hydrated is really important. Hope this helps u! :)
